IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Normandy is now available for Windows on Steam, offering the latest installment in this combat flight simulator from 1C Game Studios. Air combat is not the typical focus when recreating World War II’s pivotal invasion of Normandy, and the battle involved none of the game’s titular Ilyushin Il-2 Shturmovik aircraft, but the game is focused on realism nonetheless. This can be seen in the launch trailer and the description:

IL-2 Sturmovik: The Battle of Normandy contains eight famous aircraft you can take into virtual combat alone or with friends and comes with a map of the Normandy theater that includes a portion of southern England and northwest France. Taken from satellite data, the accurately reproduced topography reflects the battleground as it was in mid-1944 both pre and post invasion.

Complete with new mission types and airfield types – bringing the total amount to 100 airfields with historically accurate layouts. The Battle of Normandy offers franchise new ships, ground vehicles, buildings, coastal defenses, V-1 buzzbombs and their launch positions, plus dozens of new aircraft paint schemes, and much more.

At long last, the collaboration generations of Ace Combat fans have been waiting for is finally ready for deployment. We’re excited to announce that Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will deliver Top Gun themed aircraft, emblems, and the “Top Gun Anthem,” “Danger Zone” in multiplayer mode as part of its TOP GUN: Maverick Aircraft Set available today!

The TOP GUN: Maverick Aircraft Set paid DLC package will feature new playable aircraft, including the F/A-18E Super Hornet | Top Gun: Maverick (The Boeing Company) and the F-14A Tomcat | Top Gun: Maverick (Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation), from the movie. Pilots, Comanche gets a full release! Some time has passed since the last Early Access Update, as we were preparing a lot of new content. Seven brand new Conflicts missions await to be conquered and mastered. For the first time, you can pilot different Comanche variants in some of them. Also, beware of two new enemies: Deadly sniper railguns will take you down instantly without any hesitation. ICBM carriers need to be disabled before they launch dangerous payloads causing fatal damage.

Many missions got a new graphical treatment, be it old or new ones. Visual effects were polished to look even better, and lighting setups in missions were adjusted for a better atmosphere. We focused also on the experience outside of the game. The great news is that Comanche is now playable in English, French, German, Spanish, Polish, Czech, Russian, and Chinese. The community can now beat all achievements (on Steam, MSFT, GOG) or collect every trading card (Steam only).

Comanche is in its full strength now. We are very thankful for your feedback during the Early Access period, it is highly appreciated and allowed us to make the game better with every update.

A new trailer from DCS World unveils a new free-to-play program for Eagle Dynamics’ extensive integrated flight simulator family. This will allow players to evaluate any of its aircraft and map modules for free for up to 14 days. Although DCS World is also offered through Steam, they express regrets that the F2P offer does not apply there:

Today, we are also introducing a new Free to Play system that lets you evaluate all of our modules (aircraft and maps) for 14 days. You can play each module sequentially for 14 days or any number of them at a time. Once you have ‘consumed’ the 14 days, you will be given another 14 day free trial period for all modules six months later. Enjoy the offer and please tell your friends!

Fly the DCS: F/A-18C Hornet for two weeks and then DCS: F-16C Viper for another two. You can download new terrains at the same time, whatever you fancy. Each module will give you 14 days to evaluate and enjoy them without any limitations or obligations. If you’ve tried a module and aren’t 100% certain about purchasing, you can re-evaluate six months later.

Campaigns are excluded.

The latest Early Access update for Comanche features a brand new single-player mode called “Conflicts” which offers challenging missions to master. Conflicts Mode is a set of various single-player missions, separate from the story campaign. In each mission, you will have to fulfill specific requirements in order to get all of the medals for that particular challenge. Only after earning all of the medals, will you be able to unlock the next mission.
