Today, Ubisoft announced that The Division Resurgence, its new free-to-play third-person shooter RPG, is now available worldwide on Steam, and Ubisoft Connect following its early-access period on the platform.

SEABORNE VILLAGE RAIDS (War Sails)

The centrepiece of the War Sails update v1.2 is the introduction of Seaborne Village Raids – a brand new feature that brings the brutal coastal assault tactics of the Viking era to both the Campaign and Mission gameplay. Players and AI lords can now launch or defend raids on coastal settlements directly from the sea or rivers, requiring shallow draft ships and a crew of at least 15 troops. Village militia will assess the balance of power and either stand and fight – triggering a seaborne village raid mission – or yield, allowing looting to begin immediately. The feature deepens naval strategy, increases lord activity at sea, and introduces new fleet considerations that add fresh layers to campaign planning.

• HIDEOUTS – Improved hideout gameplay with more flexible stealth options and distinct rewards for stealth and assault approaches.
• DIPLOMACY – Overhauled diplomacy featuring smarter wars, deeper alliances, trade agreements, and meaningful consequences that reflect the evolving political landscape.
• BATTLES & SIEGES – Refined combat with more forgiving outcomes, smarter AI, and improved unit balance.
• ARMY CHANGES – Armies now require a more substantial force to form and will disband more quickly if too weak to attack, resulting in fewer but stronger armies on the map. This also leaves more noble parties free to respond to threats, strengthening settlement defence – while auto-resolved sieges now take twice as long, giving reinforcements time to arrive.

War Sails Updates

• SEABORNE VILLAGE RAIDS – Coastal villages can now be raided directly from the sea or rivers, with village militia either standing their ground or yielding – triggering different outcomes across both Campaign and Mission gameplay.
• INCREASED NAVAL ACTIVITY – Enemy nobles now actively target coastal ports and sea lanes during wartime, while rebalanced AI drives greater naval travel across all factions – increasing the frequency of meaningful encounters at sea.
• NAVAL BATTLE MISSION CHANGES – Naval battles have been refined for a smoother, more engaging experience. Players can now delegate control of their ship to the crew, freeing them to move and fight independently.
• NEW ROLES & WANDERERS – Two new naval party roles bring more options to crew management, alongside three new Nord wanderer types.
• 2 NEW SHIPS – The Battanian Barlinnger, a slower, sturdier vessel built for larger engagements with strong ranged capabilities, and the Nord Battle Knarr, a reinforced ship designed to carry ballistae and larger crews.
• NEW BODY ARMORS & HELMETS – Two new body armours – the Reinforced Mail Coat and the Nordic Long Heavy Mail – arrive alongside nine new Nord helmets, including the Nordic Spectacle Helmet and the Brass Vendel Helmet.

The new video showcases some of the most spectacular new mechanics introduced in War Sails, in a thrilling night-time river battle between the Nords – a fierce new faction introduced in the expansion – and the Khuzaits. Pitched in a deadly battle in the dark of night, the two factions battle not only each other, but the fury of the elements, in the midst of a violent thunderstorm. Ships ignite under barrages of blazing fire arrows, sails burn, and vessels sink beneath storm waves for the first time in the series’ history – offering just a glimpse of the intense naval battles awaiting players in War Sails.

CONTENT SUMMARY

This gameplay footage features a river battle between Khuzait and Nords. The player POV controls the Khuzait, with an army consisting of 3 Qalquk and 1 Dromakion (heavy ships), 3 Sambuk (medium), and 1 Eastern Galley (light), equipped with fire pots as ballista in heavy ships. The Nords’ army, playing as the attackers, consists of 6 Drakkar (Heavy), 1 Longship (Medium), and 1 Light Longship (Light). It’s a night-time battle, with both sides equipped with lanterns on their ships. Burning sails and ships are shown in the video.

The incoming War Sails expansion is scheduled to arrive to MOUNT & BLADE II: BANNERLORD in the Fall of 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GoG, alongside a major free update to the base game.

The Battle For Brooklyn DLC launches today in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, bringing a new narrative campaign with new missions, a new skill, new Hunter riddles, a new exotic item, and more to discover. The DLC is included in the Gold Edition and new Ultimate Edition (which released April 23) , and is also available for standalone purchase in both Standard and Deluxe editions (requires the base game).

Today also marks the launch of the The Division 2′s latest season – Crossroads – which brings new seasonal modifiers and gear incorporating elements reminiscent of The Division, the game that started it all.
