Here’s all the topline intel on what you need to know before launching into the Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta. Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta Schedule

• All players can preload the Open Beta starting at 9:00 AM PT on Wednesday August 26, on all platforms.
• Weekend Two (Open Beta): August 28 at 10:00 AM PT – September 1 at 10:00 AM PT

The Open Beta begins at 10:00 AM PT, Friday August 28 for players on XBOX Series X|S, XBOX on PC, PlayStation®5, Steam, Battle.net, and Nintendo Switch 2. The Open Beta is scheduled to end at 10:00 AM PT on Tuesday, September 1.

How to Access and Launch the Beta on Steam (PC)

• Preload (Available Now): Open the Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 4 Store page, select Play Now, and Steam will automatically add the Beta to your Library and begin downloading.
• Launch (Available at 10:00AM PT on Friday, August 28): Open your Steam Library and select Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 4 Beta when the Beta goes live.

How to Access and Launch the Beta on Battle.net (PC)

• Preload (Available Now): Open Battle.net, select Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 4, choose the Beta version if prompted, and click Install.
• Launch (Available at 10:00AM PT on Friday, August 28):Press Play once the Beta is live.
  If you wish to download and play the Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta now, you can go to the store and download Call of Duty, where the “Modern Warfare 4 Beta” should automatically be selected.

Happy official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 reveal day! Developed by Infinity Ward, Modern Warfare 4 is set in a rapidly escalating global conflict centered on the Korean Peninsula. Players will fight as Private Park, a young South Korean soldier thrust into a full-scale North Korean invasion, while beyond the front lines, operator turned outlaw Captain Price, works outside the system he once served in pursuit of a weapon that threatens to pull the world into catastrophe. The Campaign takes players around the world, from close-quarters combat in New York, thrilling car chases through Paris, to SAS night raids in Mumbai, and of course into trench warfare in Korea.

Multiplayer delivers grounded, precise combat, built around fluid movement that provides greater control than ever before. Multiplayer introduces Ballistic Authority, a new weapons-first innovation that brings the most authentic Modern Warfare gunplay yet. Modern Warfare 4 will launch with 12 Core maps, spanning visually distinct locations around the world, plus Kill Block, a new and dynamic battleground that reconfigures its layout between rounds across more than 500 configurations.

DMZ returns as the definitive Call of Duty extraction experience, dropping solo players and squads into a shifting combat zone where every deployment plays out differently. Additional details for DMZ will drop on June 7.

Modern Warfare 4 is built with a renewed focus on PC players, with Infinity Ward and Beenox partnering to give more control over performance, visual fidelity, responsiveness, and customization on PC. Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, 2026 on XBOX Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and for the first time, Nintendo Switch 2.
