Publisher My.com and developer Obsidian Entertainment has provided more details on the tanks crews and commanders for the world of modern armoured vehicle combat, Armored Warfare.

In Armored Warfare the vehicles driven in battle have their own crew depending on the model and type of vehicle, and just as in real life each crew member has their own specialty. As well as a permanent crew, each vehicle needs a commander who is the most important person for improving the performance of the armoured vehicle.

For Tank crews, players can choose skills for their crew based on their style of play and hardware configuration. Crew skills must be selected carefully and while they cannot change the efficiency of basic tank characteristics, some skills will perform better than others for different vehicles. Crew skills play a vital role on the battlefield.

Commanders are a separate fighting unit who form part of the tank crew and act as a key element of the team. In contrast to regular crew members the commander can switch from tank to tank and because of this they have their own unique development system.

Play large-scale battles with friends in team mode

My.com has today revealed the details of PVE missions, or team mode, which provides players the chance to take part in large-scale battles with a group of friends.

“This is an independent part of the game and a great alternative to PVP battles. The entire mission will take around 20 minutes, with teams of a maximum of four players. A group of friends or clan members can gather to complete a mission or you can join a randomly compiled team of fighters.”

My.com is happy to present the main battle tank – T-80. Constructed in the Soviet Union, this tank earned the reputation as an outstanding combat vehicle and was praised by many experts and tank commanders. Watch the video to find out more about this military machine.

In Armored Warfare the T-80 is a Tier 7 vehicle. The main characteristics of this main battle tank are high alpha damage and high mobility. The T-80 shows its very efficiency in close-quarters combat. The top gun can consistently deal a large amount of damage per shot due to the high penetration, but the lower accuracy, long aim time, and penetration falloff of the ammunition make the T-80 far less effective against targets at longer ranges.

The T-80 has powerful frontal armour on the hull and turret, but weak rear and side armour combined with lower HP value makes this vehicle highly vulnerable to flanking attacks. Therefore, the best tactic when meeting this tank will be going around the flank or to the rear. Those who use T-80 should constantly be covering the rear or use the landscape to protect yourself from vulnerable flanking.

Players will be able to upgrade and modify T-80 in various ways: step-by-step upgrade of guns and ammunition to more powerful ones, installation of additional electronic equipment and external defence systems, as well as more powerful engines. The T-80 can be modified up to the level of T-80U model.

My.com will share more information on tank modifications very soon, so be sure to follow on your favourite social channel and sign up for the beta for your chance to pilot the T-80 main battle tank.

My.com has revealed new information for the Port location in Armored Warfare.

The vehicles in Armored Warfare are the focus for everyone playing the game, whether you’re a casual fan of armored vehicles or a former driver yourself. However, to make these vehicles believable in the game world, it’s necessary to create a world where it makes sense for these kinds of vehicles to be present.

For us, this means creating locations where it makes sense for a modern conflict, with modern armored vehicles, to take place. Economic centers, production facilities, transportation hubs; these are all places where a modern conflict could focus, and for us, the Port map is a perfect example of this kind of environment.

In this strip of land, sandwiched between a mighty ocean and the burning heat of the desert, two armored divisions will clash, with armored vehicles stalking and hunting each other amongst enormous cranes, shipping containers, office buildings and loading facilities.

All of these objects are modeled on their real-life counterparts. This helps the entire facility feel alive, but it doesn’t stop there. Many things on the map are dynamic: cranes move containers around, and the battle begins with a massive explosion caused by a derailing train, creating even more obstacles that you can use as cover from enemy fire.

Teams will be able to choose from a variety of tactics on their path to victory. The variety in terrain, ranging from paved streets to rolling sands, will force players to adapt to the environment and use strategy in order to destroy the enemy base. These distinct areas allow each role to play to its strengths. Artillery can position themselves strategically, Recon have lots of cover and short stretches of open territory, and Main Battle Tanks will be able to take advantage of the information provided by their teammates to fight with maximum efficacy.
