NVIDIA today released GeForce 416.34 WHQL “Game Ready” drivers. These drivers provide optimization for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4″ (retail), “Soulcaliber VI,” and “GRIP.” Among the fixed issues with this release are buggy shadows in “Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds,” some games launching to a black screen when DSR is enabled, a colorful shimmering line noticed in some games when playing full-screen with G-SYNC enabled, Surround display not being available from NVIDIA Control Panel with Edge browser running, and green screen display corruption on certain games with HDR enabled. AMD has released the Radeon Software Adrenalin 18.10.1 Beta drivers. These drivers include support for Microsoft’s Windows 10 October 2018 Update as well as optimizations for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Along with improved support, AMD has addressed a number of issues with this latest release. First of which is a fix for the HDMI audio drivers not upgrading during the Radeon Software installation in some circumstances. Random reboots when upgrading from Radeon Software versions older than RSAE 18.8.1 on CPUs with more than 16 cores has also been resolved. In regards to gaming fixes, Fortnite sees lighting corruption when effects quality is set to High or Epic resolved, while Sea of Thieves sees texture flickering in multi-GPU configurations fixed. The Fighter Collection & Eagle Dynamics announce the F-14 Tomcat is the next aircraft coming to DCS World, their aerial combat simulation. The DCS E-Shop has loads of details on the plane, and it is already available for preorder. The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a two-crew, variable geometry, maritime air superiority fighter that served with the US Navy for 32 years and continues to serve with the IRIAF in Iran. The F-14 was the US Navy’s frontline fighter from the 1970s until the mid-2000s. Over the course of its long service life it also became the US Navy’s premier precision ground-attack platform and lone airborne reconnaissance asset.

Outstanding features of the aircraft are the swing-wing configuration, crew of two, and the powerful AN/AWG-9 Weapons Control System (WCS) and radar. The AWG-9 allows employment of the powerful AIM-54 Phoenix air to air missile while the LANTIRN pod allows the ability to carry out precision ground strikes using laser guided bombs. The F-14 Tomcat was present during many pivotal historic moments such as the two Gulf of Sidra incidents, Operation Desert storm in Iraq, the conflict in Yugoslavia, Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom. It was also immortalized in the iconic motion picture, Top Gun, and starred in several other feature films including The Final Countdown, Executive Decision, and others.

A new official trailer for Armored Brigade seeks to raise interest in this upcoming real-time tactics game set during the Cold War. The clip comes along with the following details:

In our world, the Cold War, fortunately, has remained “cold” and (at least for now) the Third World War has not broken out. In the world of Armored Brigade, however, history goes differently: the USSR, still at the height of its military power, invades Central Europe together with its allies of the Warsaw Pact. NATO can do nothing but deploy the US, German and British divisions to stem the Red Tide.

Set between 1965 and 1991, Armored Brigade is a tactical RTS in which you will take control of either the NATO command or the Warsaw Pact. You can select your army not only by choosing the nationality (USA, West Germany and United Kingdom for NATO, USSR, Poland and East Germany for the Pact), but also the type of deployment – infantry, motorised or tank battalion.

The battlefield is set on three maps: the centre of Germany, the Fulda Gap, where NATO expected the salient of the USSR attack in case of war, and the south of Finland, present in the game as a neutral faction. You choose any portion of these maps to fight your battle.

Wargaming announces details about a big October update coming to World of Warships, their free-to-play naval combat MMOG. This will introduce their Halloween event, which will feature the addition of the spookiest of all warships, submarines, though they say when the celebration kicks off is still TBA. In further future teasing, they also say another update before the end of the year will overhaul aircraft carriers “to add a whole new level of gameplay depth.” This trailer offers a work-in-progress look at some subs in action, and here are more details:

First off, as part of the annual and always anticipated Halloween in-game event, Wargaming is adding a spooky new addition that’s sure to change up gameplay in exciting ways – submarines! Subs add a whole new dimension to the game – literally! Now you have the whole undersea to prowl, as the Halloween event will see the addition of new sinister submarines. Once the event is over, Wargaming will take a look at the effect that adding this new element has on the game, and evaluate how best to completely integrate submarines into World of Warships – permanently! If all goes according to plan, players can expect more subs across multiple nationality tech-trees in 2019!

Wargaming is aiming for the end of this year to incorporate a new update that will see a rebalancing of aircraft carriers and a reworking of how they play in-game. Carriers will become more action-oriented, as one of the most significant changes includes direct aircraft squadron control, allowing for much more freedom – and the addition of three types of available squadrons (torpedo bombers, dive bombers, and attack planes). Along with those two key changes, players will have the ability to call fighter squadrons to patrol the current player location and engage enemy planes.
