Heatblur was founded with the goal to be an absolute leader in the flight simulation space and the F-14 represents another step on our journey to achieve that goal. Over the past few years, we’ve assembled an immensely talented and dedicated team of engineers, physicists and artists to bring our chosen airframes to life. The F-14 represents a generational step forward for Heatblur, one where we not only try to push the bar in an aircraft’s flight modeling, systems or visual representation – but one where we introduce new, novel features into the sim and create entirely new pieces of modular technology that we can leverage in the future.

We’re immensely proud of what we’ve achieved so far. With a flight and systems model that has been engineered over the course of several years and carefully vetted through hundreds of combined flight hours by F-14 legends, we lay the foundation for an F-14 simulation that hopes to acknowledge and honor the men and women of the Tomcat community and all of their hard work. Throughout this journey, we’ve been blessed to work with many fantastic people and subject matter experts who have been absolutely invaluable in bringing the aircraft to life. Thanks to all of you!

This will be the beginning of our Tomcat journey. Our sole focus will now become the absolute perfection of our Viggen and Tomcat products through their Early Access periods, as we continue towards release versions of both modules and add new, exciting AI content into the skies of DCS World.

The MiG-19P Farmer was designed by the legendary Mikoyan Design Bureau in the Early 1950’s and was the Soviet Union’s first true supersonic interceptor that could exceed Mach 1 in level flight.

Designed to take on enemy fighters and bombers at any time of day or night and in any weather condition, the Farmer was equipped with the RP-5 lzumrud radar in the nose and armed with two NR-30 30mm cannons in the wing roots. The Farmer is also able to carry an array of ground attack weapons that include S-5M rockets and various general-purpose bombs. It is a lethal interceptor with conventional ground attack capabilities.

Update brings arcade mode, five new guns, and celebrates 500,000 players

Insurgency: Sandstorm, the smash-hit indie FPS from New World Interactive, receives its first major content update today. This includes the massive addition of a new ‘Arcade’ playlist with rotating game modes, alongside five new weapons, a new firing range for practicing your aim, performance improvements, and a wealth of smaller changes, additions, tweaks, and bug fixes – all featured in the First Content Update Trailer.
 
We’re also thrilled to announce that over 500,000 copies of Insurgency: Sandstorm have now been sold, already making back the budget of development, marketing, and then some. In celebration, we invite those who haven’t yet picked up a copy to get involved with a first major discount of 20% off on Steam, available until March 5.
 
The Arcade experience that ships with this new update lays the foundation for adding fresh, new, non-traditional game modes into Insurgency: Sandstorm. Things are beginning with a classic Team Deathmatch mode, which removes faction restrictions on weapons and upgrades, and gives more supply points to make your selections. Rules are simple: Build your ideal loadout, and kill enough of the enemy to win the match. New modes will be introduced to Arcade regularly with future updates.
 
To add some spice to this new kill-focused mode, five new weapons are also being added to Sandstorm in this update. Two new variations of the MP5, the MP5A2 and the MP5A5, are low caliber weapons with good recoil control, perfect for close quarters combat. There are also a pair of new machine guns, the M240B and MG3, offering high-caliber damage and an absurd rate of fire respectively. Finally a new Security handgun, the PF940, features 9mm rounds and a massive high capacity magazine upgrade of 31 rounds.
 
These new weapons join a rework of flash grenades to be more effective, alongside new cosmetic additions of eyewear, tattoos, a new camouflage pattern, and more. The Dutch company is keeping up the pace, as this is another new product after the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv X, which we reviewed at the end of October 2018. Ah, Aimpad technology! I have been wanting to try it out for a while now, having read references of the Aimpad analog control input mechanism with mechanical keyboards over three years ago. I referenced it in my review of the Roccat Isku+ Force FX as well, a membrane keyboard that used pressure sensitivity to drive a rudimentary form of analog control. Then came the very impressive Wooting One with optical switches for a satisfactory analog control experience on the entire TKL form factor keyboard. That required new switch designs, however, and Aimpad’s compatibility with many existing switches offered a viable alternative as well. Cooler Master partnered with Aimpad, first via a working prototype using their erstwhile Rapidfire keyboard and then for more proofs of concept at CES 2018. Well, it is now 2019, and we are finally here with a retail keyboard. Say hello to the Cooler Master MK850.
