New standalone multiplayer expansion for the ultimate World War II real-time-strategy platform is available now!

SEGA Europe Ltd, SEGA of America and Relic Entertainment have announced today that Company of Heroes 2: The British Forces is out now for PC Digital Download on Steam and via the online SEGA Store priced at $12.99/£9.99/€12.99. The standalone multiplayer expansion for Company of Heroes 2 features the British Forces as an all-new faction, including 15 new units, up to six new commanders (three in the base game and three via the War Spoils loot dropping system) and a total of eight new multiplayer maps.

The British Forces adds a new dynamic to the Company of Heroes 2 battlefield by giving players the ability to combine powerful, coordinated attacks across two distinct combat styles – the ‘Hammer’, an aggressive, mobile approach; or the ‘Anvil’, a deliberate but highly potent defensive approach. With the addition of the British army, Company of Heroes 2 is one of the most comprehensive World War II RTS games available, with a thriving online community and over 10,000,000 online matches played since launch.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Reckoning, the fourth and final DLC pack for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC. Reckoning features four new multiplayer maps, the return of the Exo Grapple playlist and the epic conclusion to Exo Zombies, as players engage across four unique locations from a freezing ice shelf in the Arctic to Liberty Island in New York.

• Overload: With a grand view of downtown New Baghdad, the map’s multiple levels and long perimeter site-lines highlight medium to long-range combat.
• Quarantine: The speed picks up in this medium sized map with its tight corners and open areas. The combination allows for any style of gameplay.
• Fracture: Search this map’s large combat areas, cradled on the shelf of a glacier, to take refuge behind wind turbines and heavy equipment.
• Swarm: In this small to medium sized map, take position in war-scarred storefronts that provide plenty of cover over the streets of Seoul, South Korea, or flank the enemy through close quarter interiors in the centre of the map.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Reckoning also brings fans Descent, the dramatic conclusion of the Exo Zombies saga. Descent takes players to a remote ocean Atlas survival facility as they encounter new “fused” Exo Zombie enemies and have at their disposal the Trident Reflected Energy Weapon. The final episode also unveils the fate of our protagonists – John Malkovich (In the Line of Fire, RED, Burn After Reading), Bill Paxton (Aliens, Titanic, Edge of Tomorrow), Rose McGowan (Planet Terror, Scream), Jon Bernthal (Fury, The Wolf of Wall Street) and Bruce Campbell (Burn Notice, Bubba Ho-Tep), who have found themselves in a harrowing situation as they attempt to discover the true cause of the global pandemic and the terrible secret that Atlas has been hiding.

Developer Diary #8 takes you straight to the heart of the World of Warships experience: its game engine. This complex beast consists of the game client itself, along with the server engine, both of which work in harmony to create an unparalleled gaming experience.

Viewers will learn how the game client and server client interact, process sound, graphics, and how they function with gaming peripherals. Discover how the BigWorld engine runs through the core of World of Warships and the ways the team implement this technology to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Another important element in World of Warships is how the highly-detailed graphics interact with the game client. Epic visuals like massively intricate vessels, realistic oceans and beautifully rendered environments require a team of pros to get the most of a player’s hardware which, naturally, comes with its own set of challenges. To complement this, the World of Warships development team will discuss what exciting enhancements players can expect to hit the seas in the near-future.

The Battlefield 4 Battlelog has word that the Battlefield 4 summer update is now live, which includes the new Night Operations DLC as a free release for the military shooter sequel. Here’s a Battlefield 4 Night Operations cinematic trailer and here’s word on the release:

It’s time to turn out the lights. The Battlefield™ 4 Summer Update is now rolling out worldwide for all platforms today, September 1st, 2015. Battlefield 4 Night Operations, a free* DLC release for all Battlefield 4 players, is also rolling out today in most territories (with PS3/PS4 in Europe coming on September 8).

Check out the Summer Update notes here!

Night Operations includes Zavod: Graveyard Shift, the first map for Battlefield 4 that takes place entirely at night. As you might expect, this changes things up – instead of being able to rely on your eyes, you’re going to need to listen closely, and focus on tools like night scopes and your radar to survive. We put together a tactical strategy guide with some tips for players looking for that competitive edge.

Ready to try out the Graveyard Shift? It supports Conquest, Rush, Obliteration, Team Death Match, Domination and Gun Master, so head out and make your enemies afraid of the dark.

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West is unprecedented in its historical depth, detail and scope among computer wargames that depict the entire Western Front of World War II both on land and in the air. War in the West is a “monster game” by any measure, but retains the ease of play that made its predecessor, War in the East, a classic.

Nevertheless, 2by3 Games has not been resting on their laurels. The team was eager to add more material and many improvements to the game. The result of all these efforts is Operation Torch, a stunning expansion that covers not only the eponymous operation by the combined forces of the Western Allies against the Afrika Korps after El Alamein, but also much more!

We are now ready to announce that this great expansion will be available on the 8th of October!

As reported here, the game will use the enhancements made for the base game (for the full list of features please visit Grigsby’s War in the West product page) adding new scenarios with plenty of strategic options (like the 1945 Campaign scenario that starts on the 16th December 1944 and runs to the end of the war in Europe, playable both on the Allied or Axis side), both historical and what if scenarios.

This is a title that every true wargamer simply cannot miss!

Get more information about the game on its official product page.

The second entry in the Just Cause 3 Dev Diary series takes a close look at the destruction that sits at the heart of the game. In the video, the Avalanche team discuss the dynamic nature of the technology and the unique scenarios that this gives birth to:

“We’ve been focused purely on the new generation of high-end technology from the very beginning of development” said Game Director Roland Lesterlin “this huge amount of extra horsepower allows us to do things that simply weren’t possible until now”.

The Destruction Dev Diary takes a look at these things in action.

Critically Acclaimed RPG Extends its Story with New Locations, Characters, and More

Obsidian Entertainment and Paradox Interactive has released the first of a two-part expansion to Pillars of Eternity, the role-playing game (RPG) phenomenon funded by over 70 thousand backers. The award-winning recipient for the Best Indy RPG at E3 2015 from MMORPG.com, “The White March: Part I” is the first addition to the critically acclaimed game, and includes an extensive array of new dynamic content for both Pillars of Eternity veterans and newcomers. White March expands the story and experience of the original game, adding new locations, quests, and companions to the world of Eora, as well as new gameplay features such as multi-class abilities, soulbound weapons, and a higher level cap, allowing players new ways to play in all areas of the game. The White March: Part I is available today as an add-on to Pillars of Eternity for Windows, Mac, and Linux PC for $14.99. A bundle with Parts I and II is available for $24.99, which will grant owners the second installment immediately upon its release.

View Eora in a way not yet seen before in a new launch trailer for The White March: Part I.

In The White March: Part I, Obsidian Entertainment continues the tale of Pillars of Eternity, an RPG inspired by classics of the computer RPG genre. Featuring an expertly crafted story from Carrie Patel, author of the Recoletta series and writer on the original Pillars of Eternity, and Eric Fenstermaker, lead writer on Pillars of Eternity and one of the co-writers of South Park: The Stick of Truth alongside show creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the new expansion has new lore and challenges to explore. Set during the middle of the original game similar to the classic Tales of the Sword Coast, the new expansion can be experienced regardless if players have completed the core game or not. Players will venture into a new setting inspired by the snowy environments of Icewind Dale, and meet new companions including The Devil of Caroc, a construct rogue, and the scarred monk Zahua. Additionally, players can make use of new advanced party-based AI during combat and other adventuring challenges.
