The riches and intrigue of Indian politics are the focus of Europa Universalis IV: Dharma, the newest expansion to Paradox Development Studio’s classic historical grand strategy game. ‘Evil Twin Artworks’, the award winning indie team behind PC RTS classic, ‘Victory At Sea’ discuss the difficulties in developing an open world sandbox for their upcoming RTS, Victory At Sea Pacific.

“When we first started developing Victory At Sea Pacific we took the stance that it would be similar to the original, where you focused on one fleet,” said James Carroll, Director at Evil Twin Artworks. “However as the scale of the game increased it became obvious that the player would be better off taking control of the entire Pacific Theatre.”

“One of the hardest aspects of building an open world RTS covering the entire Pacific war was creating a sensible system that would allow the player to manage the whole thing. If we had any brains we would have made the top level turn based, with the individual battles played out in real time.”

To prevent it from being overwhelming the player is introduced to the Bridge in stages, bringing a huge amount of control and customisability, as well as emphasising the cat and mouse aspects of running naval battles over such a vast area.

AMD has released version 18.8.1 Beta of its Radeon Software Adrenalin drivers that keep your graphics card’s performance equal to that of a well/oiled machine (figuratively, of course). The new software version brings driver-level support and improvements for the upcoming (and highly awaited) Monster Hunter: World. for that game, this driver release promises up to 5% and 6% increased performance on AMD’s RX Vega graphics card and RX 580, respectively, compared to AMD’s 18.6.1 driver release at 1080p.

This driver also adds support for World of Warcraft : Battle for Azeroth, We Happy Few, and Madden NFL 19. Another interesting additions are the extended functions for the Vulkan API, supporting more commands than previous driver versions.

The new Radeon Software Adrenalin 18.8.1 Beta drivers are available online at the AMD driver download page.

NVIDIA has released GeForce 398.82 WHQL drivers. These drivers are game-ready for the week’s hottest game releases: “World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth,” and “Monster Hunter: World.” The drivers also add or update SLI profiles for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4″ and “World of Warcraft.” The drivers fix color corruption seen on “World of Warcraft: Legion” on machines with G-Sync HDR and Windows HDR mode enabled. The drivers also bring back graphics settings in “Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus,” and missing G-Sync Control Panel on machines with G-Sync Surround.

Ubisoft has announced that Far Cry 5: Lost on Mars, the second post-launch adventure, is now available on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X and Windows 10 PC.

Lost on Mars continues the uncanny adventures in the Far Cry 5 Season Pass as players travel to Mars as Nick Rye and Hurk eradicate alien arachnids. Lost on Mars can be purchased as stand-alone DLC, as part of the season pass or with the Gold Edition.

Lost on Mars transports the franchise’s insanity to the Red Planet as Nick Rye and Hurk teleport to Mars in an effort to restore power to ANNE, a futuristic AI representing humanity’s last line of defense. This adventure will also give players a new arsenal of alien weaponry, including:

• Blaster of Disaster: A single-shot space gun made of trusty alien hardware.
• Hellfire: Fires 15 bouncing laser balls, inflicting serious damage.
• Morphinator: Harness the power of science to turn predators into prey – with an explosive twist.
• Space Jets: Defy gravity and blast across Mars in an entirely new way to navigate extraterrestrial terrain.

In addition, all Far Cry 5 players can access new Mars-themed assets in Far Cry Arcade, available now. Map builders will be able to integrate these assets into their existing maps or create new sci-fi-themed maps.

Ubisoft also released the Far Cry 5: Lost on Mars soundtrack , a funky, sci-fi, 70s-inspired spaghetti western track list created and performed by film composer Anthony Marinelli. Marinelli used his original vintage analog synthesizers from iconic films Young Guns, Starman, War Games and Michael Jackson’s Thriller, as well as sci-fi orchestra riffs, baritone guitar, banjo, dobro, wah guitar and funky bass lines to get players grooving with the spiders on Mars.
