Tripwire Interactive today announced that Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, the asymmetrical, tactical FPS released on PC in 2017 and supported with years of free content updates post-launch, has been updated with a new quality-of-life focused patch designed to improve server behavior and security, while addressing a series of VOIP-related bugs to improve the immersive experience. Alongside the update, patch 1.6.2, the publisher has announced a franchise-wide sale for Red Orchestra/Rising Storm with the deepest discounts ever of up to 95% off on individual titles and 80% off of DLC bundles. The sales will run on Steam from Nov. 11 – 18, and on the Epic Games Store from Nov. 12 – 19. In honor of Veterans Day, Tripwire Interactive will be donating a portion of the Veteran’s Day sale proceeds to various charity organizations focused on serving veterans.
The sequel to smash-hit Rising Storm, Rising Storm 2: Vietnam brings the franchise into the era of modern weaponry of fully automatic rifles and man-portable grenade launchers. Players can engage in massive 64 player battles waging asymmetrical combat, with Southern Forces including the US and ARVN having access to aircraft and a wide array of powerful weaponry, and the NVA and VC making up the Northern Forces who offset their lack of modern firepower with guerrilla tactics, leveraging booby traps and their “home field advantage” to hide and quickly navigate the battlefield. Featuring over 20 maps, more than 50 weapons, three distinct game modes, from years of continued post-launch support including content updates and improvements, Rising Storm 2: Vietnam balances tactical realism and accessibility to deliver an approachable yet challenging first-person-shooter experience.
