Hearts of Iron IV is the latest iteration of Paradox Interactive’s successful World War 2 grand strategy title. However, I have to confess that the last version was, for me, a failure as I just couldn’t get into it at all. Therefore, it was with some trepidation that I accepted an invitation from Paradox to a two day multi-player event being held just outside of London – that’s a lot of time to commit to something you really may not like from the off. This was not helped by having very little time to get to know the game with the beta that was kindly provided and having to get going with game from the start of the event. So how did it work out?

Common Sense Expansion Brings Major Changes to Acclaimed Empire Builder

The Common Sense expansion to Paradox’s strategy hit Europa Universalis IV is available today, and it comes with tonnes of major changes to the core game, making it one of the most significant pieces of DLC yet in the EU4 franchise. With a focus on making your nation work better, Common Sense gives you new tools to make sure your global empire rests on a sound foundation.

This new trailer will give you the run down on some of the peacetime opportunities coming your way.

Central to Common Sense is the idea of Development – your provinces are now more than an all powerful tax number. You can improve your regions based on tax, trade and military power specifically, giving each a focus or strength. Or, you can develop broadly to prevent crushing losses when a center of manpower falls to the enemy.

We’re also introducing Parliaments, allowing constitutional systems of government new ways to put the power of the people’s representatives to work on behalf of the nation – for a price.

There is a host of other changes to the game, including improvements to the Protestant religion, the creation of national churches, karma for Buddhist rulers and much, much more. And even if you don’t buy the expansion, the free update we provide with every new expansion will transform your play experience in interesting ways. This time, we have modified the role of forts in battle and shaken up the map and diplomatic situation in the 1444 start date.

Obsidian Entertainment and My.com are pleased to announce the dates of the Second Early Access Test for Armored Warfare is taking place from June 10th, 2015 till June 24th, 2015. To support this awesome news we have prepared a new trailer which demonstrates Roughneck – a brand new map that will be available during Second Early Access Test.

The Second Early Access Test will let the player continue their progression from the first test now for a two weeks period and at the same time will bring new content and considerable optimization and balance updates.

Ubisoft’s UbiBlog now offers an Inside Rainbow #2 trailer from Rainbow Six: Siege showing off the FBI SWAT operators in the upcoming installment in the Tom Clancy shooter series. Here’s the accompanying blurb:

Servare Vitas. The Rainbow Six Siege Operators from the FBI SWAT CTU don’t mess around, especially when it comes to explosives. All four Operators deal increased explosive damage thanks to their backgrounds and explosives training. World’s Most Anticipated Game in Development at Bethesda Game Studios

Bethesda, a ZeniMax Media company, has confirmed the upcoming global release of Fallout 4, the next generation of open-world gaming. The world premiere of the game will take place during Bethesda’s E3 Showcase being held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on June 14th beginning at 7.00pm PST, and streamed live around the world via Twitch and YouTube.

Fallout 4 is being developed for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system and PC by award-winning Bethesda Game Studios under the direction of Todd Howard. This eagerly-awaited game is the follow up to the 2008 ‘Game of the Year’, Fallout 3, and the first title from the world-renowned studio since the release of their global phenomenon and 2011 ‘Game of the Year’, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

“We know what this game means to everyone,” said Game Director, Todd Howard, “The time and technology have allowed us to be more ambitious than ever. We’ve never been more excited about a game, and we can’t wait to share it.”
