The Command LIVE project has officially taken off. The first release, Old Grudges Never Die, is available for purchase at the Matrix Games Store and on Steam.

We are really proud of this first episode and of the project as a whole. Developers WarfareSim and Bart Gauvin, an experienced designer from the community, have worked hard to bring this project to life and this is only the start. It’s the first time a detailed simulation takes on real life events to create such detailed fictional, but true-to-life scenarios.

Old Grudges Never Die, in particular,features a highly detailed geopolitical what if scenario, set in the present day Syrian Civil War.

Two playable factions, Turkey and Russia, have been engrossed in this conflict, where every false step could further destabilize the entire region. With dozens of actors involved, the slightest incident could ignite a war.

Take command and avoid escalating the conflict to an all out war, or be ready to face the consequences!

Command Live: Old Grudges Never Die now and play history as it happens. Live!

The game is an expansion for Command: Modern/Air Naval Operations and require the base game to be played.

Heatsink designs are driven by the fundamental principle that a larger surface area equates to better heat dissipation than a smaller area. Factoring in componential consent, modern aftermarket CPU tower heatsinks had to get creative to compensate and dial-in the efficiency needed, hence the rise of dual-tower cooler designs. By isolating the two ends of the heatpipe set into two separate fin arrays, the active cooling fan can cool faster due to the smaller area. Dual-tower design also results in better performance with two fans since it is pushing cool air into relatively the same fin array size rather than relegating one of the fans to simply pulling hot air. This dual-tower design is utilized in one of Scythe’s latest tower cooling solution called the Fuma.

NVIDIA today shipped out the GeForce 368.81 WHQL drivers, which are optimized for a suite of VR-Ready games. To begin with, the drivers come with optimization for NVIDIA’s VR Funhouse (a tech demonstrator that takes advantage of Simultaneous Multi-Projection); “Everest VR,” “Raw Data,” a hotly anticipated AAA VR title that made waves at E3, “Obduction,” and “The Assembly.”

Sim155 Ltd. has announced that Combat Air Patrol 2 (CAP2) will be updated to version v806. Its the most extensive update so far and will go live this week. One of the major features of v806 is radio comms. Radio exchanges and background chatter really improve simulation immersion. It also enables commands to aircraft within your section such as:

• Formation control
• Target assignment (A-A & A-G)
• Report State
• Navigation
• Mission abort
• Return to base
• Recover/land on carrier
• Emcon (Emissions Control)
• Lights state

You also have RT to the carrier/fleet such as:

• Request takeoff
• Request land
• Request position check
• FAC assign fire mission to fleet

Target assignment is done by locking up an air target, surface target or locking a point with your Lantirn pod then commanding a wingman to attack your target.

Formation control is fun to use, you have standard mission formations such as combat spread, echelon etc. You also have the close formation ‘parade’ which is great for photo opportunities, not so great for sudden maneuvers!

Fleet FAC (Forward Air Controller) allows you create a fire mission for the fleet main guns, initiating a barrage at your Lantirn pod lock point.

Radio comms will continue to evolve throughout ‘Early Access’ with extra commands, associated AI logic and UI updates.

Command LIVE. Play history live, as it happens.

Command LIVE is a very ambitious project. Its aim is to recreate highly accurate scenarios from real-world situations and events, as they happen. WarfareSims has teamed up with the best editors and modders from the community, to create short, engaging scenarios that re-create real life events. Where geopolitical instability calls for military power to come into play, the Command LIVE project calls for players.

The first DLC to be released under this name is Old Grudges Never Die. Players take control of either Russian or Turkish forces in the attempt to maintain national honor and pride, while keeping a lid on hostilities to prevent the outbreak of larger conflict.

This scenario follows on from the real events of November 2015, when a Russian Su-24 was shot down by a Turkish F-16. The consequent geopolitical situation and the interests at stake, including the involvement of NATO, Syrian and rebel forces and ISIS, create a set of circumstances where every false move can end up in a bloodshed.
