NEC MultiSync EA244UHD 24-Inch 4K Monitor Review

What we have to evaluate today is NEC‘s new MultiSync EA244UHD, a 24-inch 4K Ultra HD monitor. As part of NEC’s EA series, this monitor is intended for high-end desktop users as opposed to professional graphics users, though there are features of the EA244UHD that may tempt potential customers who fall into the latter category. Things that separate this monitor from a traditional desktop display include extras like up to four-way display matrix support (there are multiple inputs for connecting multiple PCs), a ControlSync feature that lets users control the settings for up to half a dozen daisychained displays, a high-speed USB 3.0 hub, and a standard warranty that even covers the backlight for the first three years.

Join us as we review the ASUS Republic Of Gamers Swift PG278Q GSYNC gaming monitor. NVIDIA has announced GSync but 3rd party monitors with that GSYNC module have been hard to get. ASUS outs their second GSYNC compatible monitor, this round they do it with a nice 27-inch WQHD display that can handle a 144 Hz refresh rate and has 1ms response time. The downside, it is a TN screen. So how good is it really?

NVIDIA Rolls Out the GeForce 340.52 WHQL Graphics Driver

NVIDIA has made available a new WHQL-certified graphics card driver, the GeForce 340.52. This release is recommended for Metro: Redux and Final Fantasy XIV, it brings multiple new and updated SLI profiles and allows the streaming of PC games to the just-released SHIELD tablet. The GeForce 340.52 has support for the GeForce 8, 9, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 and 700 Series cards and for the ION and ION LE GPUs.

NZXT Kraken X31-X41-X61 AIO Water Cooler Roundup

AIO (all in one) liquid cooling units continue to gain popularity due mostly to the cheaper cost to performance ratio, as well as their leak-proof and low maintenance design. If we look back a mere 2 years ago, liquid AIO cooling units were few and far between, and only a few manufacturers offered this type of cooling solution. Today we find a lot of AIO units flooding the market, and as you may already know, selecting the right one can be a hard choice with so many different styles and types readily available. I am very excited today, because I will be putting three new units on my test bench from NZXT. The NZXT KRAKEN X31, X41 and, Kraken X61 AIO coolers. These three closed-loop liquid coolers are follow-up products to the Kraken X30 X40 and Kraken X60 that were reviewed last year. The NZXT X31 X41 and X61 have kept their same 120mm, 140mm, & 280mm respective CLC design; however, they now come with some new additions in the form of variable pump speed control, increased radiator thickness, and Cam software.

Sapphire Dual-X R9 280 3GB OC Video Card Review

The AMD Radeon R9 2xx series has been out since October 2013, and we are continuing to see new versions of the R9 200 series. The R9 280 series is basically a rebranded Radeon HD 7950 with a few tweaks. Powered by a single 28nm Tahiti XTL GPU, it features 1792 Stream processors running at 850MHz with a boost to 940Mhz. Compared to the reference R9 280 of 827MHz and 933MHz boost. It’s memory consists of 3GB GDDR clocked at 5000Mhz. To keep the card cool, Sapphire has switched from their Tri-X Cooling technology to Dual-X cooling, which has two fans. This overclocked edition is currently available as part 11230-00-40G for $239.99 shipped which includes Sapphires 2 year warranty.
