insurgency-sandstormThe indie smash-hit FPS Insurgency: Sandstorm, releasing for consoles on September 29th, has just revealed its new Gameplay Overview Trailer. Prepare for the blood-pumping intensity enjoyed by millions of existing PC players with the definitive tactical co-op FPS coming to consoles. Pre-order the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One! Insurgency: Sandstorm is already available on Steam.

Gameplay Overview

Insurgency: Sandstorm is a gritty tactical first-person shooter set in a contemporary, fictional, middle-eastern conflict. Two factions battle it out in fierce firefights where every bullet is felt, and every impact is feared. Sandstorm’s low time-to-kill and gameplay focus on immersion rewards tactical and careful play instead of run-and-gun shooting. Every mission is objective-based and can be played in either full-scale PvP battles or up to 8-player co-op.

Immersion and Authenticity

Insurgency: Sandstorm puts immersion, authenticity, and attention to detail first. Each weapon’s animation, sound, and ballistics have been painstakingly crafted and simulated. You also have a wide assortment of tactical options available; slowly open a door to slip a grenade through, kick it down for a breach, or find another way through open, sprawling urban environments.

Character and Weapon Customization

Play as several different classes from each faction, each sporting its own set of specialized equipment and gear. You can customize each weapon and the items you bring for every playstyle, but every modification comes at a tactical cost, so prepare appropriately.

As you level up in Insurgency: Sandstorm, you will also unlock various outfit items from camouflages, BDUs, track-suits, helmets, and different armor types. Customize your soldier’s face, appearance and voice to make your mark on the battlefield.

Visit the official Insurgency: Sandstorm website for more game information.

call-of-duty-vanguardSledgehammer Games’ new Call of Duty is almost here

Source: Polygon

Activision released a new teaser trailer for Call of Duty: Vanguard, officially announcing the next game in the series after a series of leaks. Players will get a first look at this year’s Call of Duty game on Aug. 19, during a special event inside Call of Duty: Warzone called the Battle of Verdansk.

The first trailer for Call of Duty: Vanguard opens with a montage of battlefields that centers on World War II. There’s a sniper’s nest that appears to be in or near Russia, a desert battlefield, a German forest, and a beach littered with destroyed aircraft. Each one of these areas features a face somewhere in the landscape, and sometimes a name (Petrova in Cyrillic, Sgt. Kingsley), hinting at characters that will be in the game. It’s also possible that these characters are the same four from the game’s official art at the end of the trailer.

The trailer featuring each of these battlefields also seems to imply that the game will likely take place in all four theaters of the WWII: the Eastern Front, the Western Front, North Africa, and the Pacific — something Activision and the Call of Duty team have been teasing for the last several days.

It seems that Activision and developer Sledgehammer Games will announce more information about the game on Aug. 19 at 1:30 p.m. ET inside of Warzone. If this is anything like previous events set inside the free-to-play Call of Duty battle royale game, you’ll likely want to log in well ahead of the scheduled start time to make sure you get in. While it’s not clear exactly what the event will be just yet, Activision will likely reveal more about it before it starts on Thursday.

Most notably, “Exodus” reintroduces an old friend for fans of the series with Battlefield 4’s Kimble “Irish” Graves, played by Michael K. Williams, returning to 2042 as a playable No-Pat Specialist. Exodus also introduces the mysterious “Oz,” who clashes with Irish over the future of the No-Pats and sows the seeds of conflict. The narrative will continue to evolve over time as more Specialists join the conflict, each with their own story to tell, and pull players deeper into the world and lore of Battlefield 2042.
