battlefield-1Experience the Birth of Modern Warfare Like Never Been Seen in Entertainment

DICE, an Electronic Arts Inc. studio, today announced the highly anticipated worldwide launch of Battlefield 1 in stores on Xbox One, PlayStation®4 and Origin™ on PC. Battlefield 1 is already being heralded by critics worldwide, winning over 45 awards including Best Action Game at E3 from the Official Game Critics Awards and also the Consumer Award from the Official gamescom Awards. In addition to this, the game is being praised for its all-out war multiplayer experience and impressive re-imagination of the Great War through its single player War Stories. IGN applauded Battlefield 1 for its “exhilarating multiplayer” and Digital Spy called it “the best Battlefield we’ve had in years.”

In Battlefield 1, experience the dawn of all-out war on an unmatched epic scale, full of a variety of new gameplay opportunities. DICE set out to build the most immersive and dynamic Battlefield game ever, continuing to improve their multiplayer sandbox experience through ever-changing environments with intuitive destruction and dynamic weather in up to 64-player battles. In Operations, a brand new multiplayer mode, players can fully immerse themselves in a series of interconnected battles, holding the front line across multiple maps. And if the battle is looking lost, call in a Behemoth, the largest fully player-controlled vehicles ever seen in Battlefield or deploy as one of three destructive forces of the Elite Class. In the unique single player campaign, players can immerse themselves in War Stories, played from the perspectives of different protagonists across the globe from the deserts of the Middle East to the skies of the Western Front.

“Battlefield 1 was a passion project for us at DICE and after years of working with the World War 1 era, we realized what a perfect fit it was for the Battlefield all-out-war style of play,” said Aleksander Grøndal, Senior Producer, DICE. “This was truly a fascinating time as it gave birth to modern warfare with many weapons, vehicles and gadgets being first introduced into the world and we wanted to share those things through a modern lens for all players to experience.”

When Battlefield 1 was first revealed in May 2016, it was lauded by fans and media alike for the bold decision of setting, opening up the possibilities for brand new gameplay opportunities. Since then, the Battlefield 1 reveal trailer became the most-liked trailer on YouTube this year across any medium, with over 2 million likes, and sparked a momentum of anticipation for the game leading up to today’s launch.

call-of-duty-black-ops-3-logoThe fourth and final DLC map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Salvation, is available on Xbox One and PC starting today. Salvation is also available on PlayStation 4. Published by Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. and developed by Treyarch, Salvation delivers the thrilling climax of the Zombies Origins saga plus four exciting multiplayer maps.

Salvation features Revelations, the finale of the Origins Zombies saga. In Revelations, this final chapter of the Zombies experience, Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo, and Nikolai – having travelled through space and time – finally discover the identity of the mysterious Doctor Monty in The House. As the heroes face-off against an ancient evil, they must hold the zombie horde back in the ultimate battle between human and undead.

Salvation also includes four new action-packed multiplayer maps set within the ancient walls of a medieval fortress, to the dusty streets of an old-west town.

  • Citadel: Once home to a powerful medieval army, this ancient castle now sits broken and abandoned. Tight corners force close-quarters engagements, while the moat and drawbridge allows for unique player movement opportunities in this mid-sized map.
  • Micro: What’s better than a BBQ on a hot summer day? A miniaturised war zone that takes place on a well-stocked family picnic table. Navigate this bite-size battlefield for a larger-than-life experience.
  • Outlaw: Gear up for a showdown in Outlaw; a western-style re-imagining of the fan favourite map Standoff from Call of Duty: Black Ops II. This rough-and-tough medium-sized map brings classic engagements, flanking routes and strategic positions for long and medium ranged combat.
  • Rupture: The Call of Duty: World at War classic Outskirts is re-imagined as a high-tech facility, designed by a futuristic society desperate to repair the Earth’s atmosphere. Take control of one of the facility’s mechs to unleash a barrage of heavy machine gun and rocket destruction.

Salvation is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC at a discounted rate via the Call of Duty: Black Ops III DLC Season Pass, which also features the three DLC Map Packs already released this year, as part of the discounted bundle.

This trailer highlights the single-player campaign in Battlefield 1, DICE’s upcoming World War I shooter. The clip offers over 16 minutes of gameplay and cinematics. This appears to be an official release with EA logos and such, but we don’t see where it was released, so this may be a leak. The clip shows the operation of various weapons and tanks and shows a personalized death memorial for each time the character you’re controlling dies.

The Battlefield website has a new feature on “the single player of Battlefield 1″ though the omitted hyphen probably doesn’t really mean they expect the game to sell only one copy. Their look at the single-player aspect of the upcoming World War I shooter includes this trailer with a cinematic look at its arms and characters. This will include seeing through the eyes of several different characters and encountering historical figures. Here’s a bit:

You’ll also get to know real-life historical figures playing Battlefield 1 single player. A romantic and somewhat controversial character, Lawrence of Arabia is a name many recognize. Right up there with The Red Baron, Lawrence is one of the most iconic World War 1 names and I hope players will find it fascinating to spend time with this character.

Facing off with a technically superior enemy, Lawrence is put in a true underdog situation in Battlefield 1. The Ottoman Empire has a giant armored train called The Canavar – or “beast” in Turkish – equipped with a huge artillery piece that can strike from miles away. The Empire’s devastating artillery engages rebel forces – who are wielding rifles from horseback.

In Battlefield 1, you play an Arab rebel that is depicted as Lawrence’s right hand. This character needs to use her resourceful playstyle to scout out enemy encampments, liberate the equipment needed, and draw the armored train out to a final confrontation. Play it loud, quiet, long-range, close-up, on your horse, or in an appropriate vehicle – it’s up to you.

This tense, story-driven prologue will test your stealth and combat skills as you encounter a sinister and hostile faction in the subways of Philadelphia – the ‘90’.
