Almost one year ago, Gary Grigsby’s War in the West amazed fans of detailed wargames and critics alike. But even though the scope of the original game was impressive, developer 2by3 Games wanted to cover this part of the war more extensively.

Today they are back with the release of a new expansion called Operation Torch. This introduces a set of new scenarios covering the African and Western European operations between late 1942 and 1945.

On top of that the expansion benefits from an enhanced version of the engine that brings the air war to a higher level with improved navigation panels and scenarios specifically designed for this aspect of the war. Players who like action in multiplayer have now the chance to join bigger games including 3 or 4 players and also play as co-operative air and ground commanders with another human player against the AI!

NVIDIA released the GeForce 358.50 WHQL drivers, which are “Game Ready” for Star Wars: Battlefront Open Beta. Open for pre-loading now on Origin for free, the game goes life in a day. In addition to this, it includes an updated driver support for GameWorks VR SDK; and OpenGL ARB 2015 extensions. This includes support for OpenGL ES 3.2 on the desktop

Activision Publishing has unveiled new footage from Call of Duty: Black Ops III, which is scheduled to arrive on November 6th, 2015. The game engrosses players in a dark and gritty future, where a new breed of Black Ops soldier has emerged, and the lines between humanity and military technology have been blurred. You must navigate the hot spots of a new Cold War to find your missing brothers. While much has changed, one thing remains the same: everything you know may be wrong.

SEGA and Relic Entertainment have released one more video developer diary for Company of Heroes 2: The British Forces, a new standalone multiplayer expansion pack for Company of Heroes 2. The British Forces features 15 new units, six new commanders with unique abilities and a total of eight new multiplayer maps portraying historic battlefield locations representing the shattered infrastructure seen throughout Europe at the end of World War II.

A post to the Eagle Dynamics forums has word that version 1.5.0 of DCS World is now available in open beta, offering the chance to test fly updates to this combat flight simulation that includes a graphics revamp. They also announce that open beta testing is underway for their L-39 Albatros module that adds this light jet to the game. This page is where to find the downloads along with details on testing, and this video shows off the L-39 Albatros.

The U.S. Army today announced it has fully launched the FREE America’s Army: Proving Grounds (AA:PG) game on Steam. The game, which was released in beta in August 2013, had more than 920,000 player accounts created during the beta period and over 7.7 million hours of play. Players can register their Soldier name for the game at the America’s Army: Proving Ground website.  and download the game from Steam.

“We received great feedback from our fans during the beta and with the help of our community we greatly improved the AA:PG game and experience,” said Daniel Kolenich, Executive Producer for America’s Army. “We’ve also been blown away by some of the great creations by our fans who used our AA Mission Editor to recreate some of their favorite maps from the franchise and develop new styles of game play that AA players are already loving.”

Bringing the best features of the previous versions to a new America’s Army environment, AA: PG stresses small unit tactical maneuvers and training that resembles the current day Army. America’s Army: Proving Grounds (AA: PG) showcases the Army by emphasizing Army Values, teamwork, training and completing the objectives through gameplay that reflects the Soldier’s Creed.

Set in a fictional country, The Republic of the Ostregals, players are in the role of an 11B Infantryman practicing combat maneuvers at JTC Griffin, a fabricated training MOUT (military operations on urban terrain) environment created by Conex modular containers. This training is crucial to the player’s success as part of a Long Range Combined Arms – Recon (LRCA-R) unit, a full spectrum capable team that embarks on special operations missions behind enemy lines.

MEDICI IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST OPEN-WORLDS IN GAMING

The third entry in the Just Cause 3 Dev Diary series takes a closer look at Rico’s place of birth; the gigantic 400 square mile Mediterranean island of Medici.

While beautiful and serene on the surface, Medici is under the tyrannous reign of the dictator General Di Ravello and is far from peaceful. This island paradise provides the player with a highly explosive playground of destruction coming December 1st 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and high-end Windows PC.
