Gaijin Entertainment and the vehicular combat MMO War Thunder commemorate the recent centenary of the Royal Air Force this upcoming weekend. Available are a host of in-game specials, including the chance for all players to obtain a new and unique model of the famous Spitfire, as well as a massive discount on a special pack of premium aircraft perfect for British aviation enthusiasts.

Britain, which is one of the oldest nations playable in War Thunder, is a favorite of hundreds of thousands of virtual pilots from all over the globe, fascinating players with its exceptional aircraft ranging from the trusty Gloster Gladiator biplane to the impressive Hawker Hunter jet fighter. Almost 100 different aircraft are playable in total, including not only fighters, but also well-known World War II veterans such as the Swordfish torpedo-bomber that helped sink the German battleship Bismarck, the Beaufighter as the world’s first aircraft designed to fit a radar device, or the Gloster Meteor, the only jet to participate on the Allied side in the war.

The country’s most famous wartime development, the renown Supermarine Spitfire, is represented in War Thunder with more than 20 different models alone. Players will be able to obtain a unique model, the Spitfire F.Mk.IXc equipped with four powerful 20mm Hispano cannons, for the first time ever during the centenary festivities by participating in an in-game tournament hosted on this occasion. A true legend both in real-life and in War Thunder indeed, the Spitfire is perfectly captivated in the recent episode of the game’s “Legends” series on YouTube.

Furthermore, all players will be able to obtain a unique RAF decal to decorate their favorite aircraft with by fulfilling in-game tasks. Two rare premium aircraft, the Spitfire LF Mk. IX flown by Southern Rhodesian ace pilot John Plagis and the Typhoon Mk. Ib, will be available for purchase using the in-game currency Golden Eagles throughout the upcoming weekend.

And as a special treat for all British aviation enthusiasts, the War Thunder store offers a great selection of the country’s most popular aircraft bundled in the special “His Majesty’s Finest” pack available at a whopping 30% discount. Besides plenty of Golden Eagles and Premium time, the bundle includes the Spitfire FR Mk. XIVe flown by the Canadian John Prendergast, one of the last pilots to fly reconnaissance over Normandy ahead of D-Day, the multi-role strike aircraft Westland Wyvern and the Martin-Baker MB 5 prototype fighter, one of the most advanced aircraft of its time.

EVGA has gained a lot of familiarity and brand recognition as a manufacturer of graphics cards featuring NVIDIA GPU’s, but the California-based company produces other products designed for PC enthusiasts and gamers. Having been teased for years now, the EVGA Z10 Mechanical Gaming Keyboards is the very first entry into the keyboard market from the longtime manufacturer of graphics card, motherboards and power supplies. Since graphics cards tend to carry less profit margin than peripherals, it is not surprising to see a manufacturer like EVGA try to expand into other markets, as competitive as they already are. Whether EVGA can make a successful entry in the keyboard market remains to be seen, but I am always happy to see more competition, as it only gives the consumers more choice.

New War mission and the next chapter of Nazi Zombies

Tensions escalate in DLC Pack 2 for Call of Duty: WWII – The War Machine. Mavericks Proving Grounds is set to release later this year. However, not many players actually know what to expect. Here’s 5 things you don’t know about Mavericks Proving Grounds.

1. PLAYERS DROP INTO THE MAP VIA DRONE

One thing that is known for certain is that Drones will be the way in which players will enter the map. With this information we know the game will be set in the near future. Could this mean we’ll see other technological features of a futuristic style? Even if we don’t, deploying from a drone to where your squad wants to start searching for loot sounds exciting.

2. MISSIONS AND OBJECTIVES MID-GAME

In a recent interview Automation Games’ James Thompson described how Mavericks was challenging the ‘boring’ moments of a Battle Royale Mid-Game. Players will be given optional missions and objectives to complete during the game. This could be something like ‘Capture and maintain possession of this particular bridge’ for example. Thompson revealed that players who challenge and complete in these objectives will receive special rewards and loot after the game. This gives players another thing to think about apart from just hiding until the end of the match.

If you’re familiar with the premise of Far Cry–the idea of a one-person army taking on overwhelming hostile forces in large, unpredictable surroundings–then you know exactly what Far Cry 5 feels like. You’ll engage in different styles of offensive conflict; attempt to tame the wild, natural environment to your advantage; and slowly build a guerilla resistance in the background. But for its fifth mainline entry, the series formula has undergone some very positive refinements, which make its core hook of exploring and engaging with its volatile setting a more free-flowing and pleasant experience. It lets you fully enjoy the sights and activities of its beautiful and interesting open-world without too many overt distractions.

The biggest change is that the series is finally confident enough to put you in charge of your own progression. After a brief orientation, the entire region of Hope County, Montana USA is immediately open for exploration. Three intimidatingly large regions surround your starting point, and you’re given only a gentle suggestion of a good first destination. The moment when you’re shown all the equally accessible possibilities and the furthest reaches of the map feels liberating–you may even be crippled by the choice, and that’s a good problem to have.
