Matrix Games has released a Tactics Update for Rule the Waves 3, its simulation of naval ship design and construction, fleet management and naval warfare from 1890 to 1970. Download the Tactics Update HERE.

Update highlights:

• This update lays the groundwork for the release of Expanded Battles, with a focus on battle resolution, ship performance, and AI behavior
• This includes tweaking and recalibrating gun performance at various ranges, improvements to the tactical AI, increasing the effectiveness of smokescreens, and adding more flexibility to force organization
• In addition, this update includes various minor fixes and changes to ship design, such as refreshing weight calculations and adjusting the cost of cruisers in comparison to larger capital ships, on top of general bug fixing.

Matrix Games has released update v1.07.03 for Decisive Campaigns: Ardennes Offensive. Introducing a new scenario covering the action around Mortain, alongside a number of small tweaks and changes across all scenarios.

Sherman Commander is coming to PC on Saturday, March 14, bringing its action-packed tactical tank simulation to Steam. To mark the occasion, Daedalic Entertainment and developer Iron Wolf Studio have released a new gameplay video featuring developer commentary by Artur Salwarowski of Iron Wolf Studio. At the same time a playable demo is now available as part of Steam Next Fest. In the video, Salwarowski walks viewers through the game’s core design philosophy, highlighting the blend of first-person tank action and squad-based tactical combat, with a strong emphasis on infantry cooperation and battlefield awareness.

The commentary also reflects on feedback gathered during the open playtest and how it directly influenced the game’s evolution, including increased unit autonomy and a stronger focus on leading troops from inside the tank rather than from a tactical map. Sherman Commander is developed by Iron Wolf Studio and published by Daedalic Entertainment, with the demo offering an early hands-on look at the refined gameplay systems.

Developed with BlackMill’s signature commitment to historical authenticity, the Kut Al Amara campaign brings the siege to life across a battlefield that transitions from open desert warfare into dense urban combat. The Arsenal found on the Ottoman Fronts often saw older weapons pushed back into service. Some of these were considered dated even by 1915, but in war necessity will always prevail. The American-made Peabody-Martini M1874 returned to the battlefield and saw service with many Ottoman troops, while the Hotchkiss Portative Mk.I provided mobile firepower much like the famous Lewis Gun, an icon of the fighting of the Great War.

Gallipoli aims to deliver large-scale, squad-based multiplayer combat set across the deserts, trench networks and defensive strongholds of Lower Mesopotamia. ‘83 Developer Tapes #7 – Commanders

In ‘83, every team has the option for a single Commander. These leaders spend the majority of their time in the overhead command view, controlling the battle like a real-time strategy game; managing squads, deploying abilities, and reading the flow of combat from above. As a Commander, your first order of business is to set up a command post, where you can see squad positions, objectives, enemy markers, and key updates in real time. Think of it as your war room, everything important flows through this interface. From here, you can send attack or defend orders, or place waypoints on the map telling your soldiers where to go. Furthermore, Commanders have a dedicated Commander VOIP channel, available only to them and squad leaders, which can be used to issue orders and plan strategy without the distraction of general team chatter.
