Arma Reforger Shifts Gears with Rally DLC and Major Vehicle Overhaul

arma-reforgerBohemia Interactive today released Rally DLC for Arma Reforger, which introduces single-player time trials across six tracks on the islands of Everon, Arland and Kolguyev. Launched alongside the DLC, the free 1.9 Major Update overhauls vehicle handling for all players, with more realistic driving physics, support for racing wheels and pedals, and a range of additional gameplay improvements.

Rally DLC Launch Trailer

Whether navigating wooded bends, pushing for speed across an airfield or tackling volcanic slopes, players will put their driving skills to the test against the clock with three cars that offer a distinct driving experience.

The Šárka 105 RS is built for ambitious drivers, featuring an upgraded 130 hp engine, a five-speed gearbox, a wider body kit and a racing steering wheel. The Sputnik 600 RS, an unconventional East German classic powered by a two-stroke engine, offers a lighter and quirkier alternative. Sitting between the two is the Dana 2001 RS, which retains its Soviet styling, dashboard and steering wheel while offering a balanced option for the track.

Customizable race conditions let players tailor their runs, while ghost times provide a benchmark to chase as they learn each route and improve their personal bests. And crashes are part of the learning process, too, since if a car rolls over, AI spectators can help get it back onto its wheels so drivers can continue their run.

The launch also marks a significant step forward for driving in Arma Reforger, with the free 1.9 Major Update bringing a comprehensive vehicle simulation overhaul to everyone, regardless of DLC ownership. The changes include reworked engines, clutches, differentials and wheels, alongside changes to steering, tires and suspension. Additionally, manual driving now requires greater care with the clutch, while improved torque distribution helps vehicles with multiple driven axles handle uneven terrain.

The update also introduces support for racing wheels, pedals and gear shifters, including force feedback. Mouse steering has been added, and steering speed is now consistent across keyboard and controller input. New dust, mud, skid mark and tire smoke effects enhance the general experience on and off the road.

Other gameplay additions in update 1.9:

  • Foliage removal: clear bushes with a shovel. Building bases also clears vegetation in the way.
  • Magazine repacking: combine rounds from compatible magazines.
  • LAV-25 upgrades: night vision optic, smoke launchers and a rate-of-fire selector. Its supply cost and rank requirement are now higher.
  • Canteens: restore hydration, which helps stamina and keeps your aim steadier.
  • More fixes and improvements, listed in the full 1.9 changelog.

The Rally DLC is available now for $7.99 / €7.99 on Steam, alongside the free 1.9 Major Update for all Arma Reforger players.
