A new gameplay trailer for Armored Warfare has been released by developer partner Obsidian Entertainment. The trailer showcases the new role system and the types of tanks players will command in battle in the team-based modern military vehicle combat game.

“The roles of the Main Battle Tank (MBT), Recon and Artillery units in Armored Warfare will offer players an endless amount of strategies in taking on the competition in a given match. Players must weigh the cost-benefit of each role in every scenario. MBTs are bruisers that can dish out damage and take it, Recon tanks sweep swiftly throughout levels to help flank enemies and spot them for artillery strikes, while Artillery units rain destruction on enemies from a distance.”

intel-core-i7-4790k-devilscanyonBy: Hilbert Hagedoorn @ GURU3D

One of the most talked of processors this year has to be the product we are reviewing today. The Core i7-4790K. Dubbed and known as a Devils Canyon the new K model processor it finally has arrived in the highlands of that mystic land called Groningen in the Netherlands. Okay, lame puns aside, Intel last week announced a couple of K model processors. The Core i7-4790K will replace the 4770K as flagship processor. By itself that normally means a 100 MHz speed-bump, but know that for the 4790K things really are quite a bit different.

The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics announce DCS: F-86F Sabre, saying the next installment in their combat flight simulation series will take off in July of this year. They offer this teaser video showing the how the seminal jet fighter will appear in the game. Here’s word:

The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics in cooperation with Belsimtek to release DCS: F-86F Sabre as a digital download in July 2014

The North American F-86F Sabre was the most capable western fighter of the early- to mid-1950s. This swept wing, single engine jet was the most important western aircraft of the Korean War and often tangled with Russian-made MiG-15s over the infamous “MiG Alley”. It was a hard struggle not only for the Korean sky, but also between two excellent aircraft builders of the East and West. In addition to its primary role as an air-to-air fighter, the Sabre could also carry bombs and air-to-ground rockets to attack ground targets.

The Belsimtek simulation of the Sabre is by far the most authentic recreation of this famous warbird to date. Feel what is to fly the Sabre with a professional level flight model, an interactive cockpit, fully functional weapons, a detailed damage model and a richly detailed aircraft. Experience the strengths and weaknesses of the Sabre in combat and find out why seasoned fighter pilots often look back at the Sabre as the most enjoyable aircraft they ever flew.

As part of DCS World, fly the F-86F Sabre in a fully realized combat environment with working weapon systems and capable air and ground threats.

Key Features of the DCS: F-86F Sabre:

  • Unmatched flight physics that allow you to truly feel what it’s like to fly this legend
  • Highly detailed, six-degrees-of-freedom (6 DOF) cockpit
  • Interact with cockpit controls with your mouse
  • Fully modelled weapon system
  • Accurate F-86F Sabre model, squadron markings, and weapons.
  • Detailed modelling of the F-86F Sabre instruments, weapons, engine, radios, fuel, electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Battle the MiG-15, the Sabre’s nemesis

Independent UK developer Rebellion has promised a significant announcement in the coming week for its award-winning World War II shooter series, Sniper Elite.

With Sniper Elite 3 releasing June 27th, gamers might be surprised to hear that the upcoming announcement is not about its forthcoming title, while the teaser artwork released only features the series iconic eagle motif.

Rebellion’s CEO and Creative Director Jason Kingsley explains:

“We couldn’t be more excited about Sniper Elite 3’s launch on June 27th. Naturally, being on five platforms – including the new consoles – means it’s had more attention than anything we’ve made before. We’ve been taken aback with the interest and reception so far.”

“But there’s always more work to be done getting the Sniper Elite name in the hearts and minds of gamers who are new to the IP, or aren’t aware of the stealth and emergent gameplay that surrounds the core sniping mechanics”

“Next week’s news will be a huge step towards this goal.”

battlefield-hardline-logoBy Steve Papoutsis, via The Battlefield Blog

On behalf of everyone at EA and Visceral Games, I’m fired up to confirm our next project – Battlefield Hardline. This is a brand new series in the Battlefield franchise, set against the backdrop of a genre we all love – the war on crime and the battle between cops and criminals.

Several years ago, I was at an internal EA meeting in Barcelona with creative leaders from across the company. It was here I met Karl Magnus Troedsson, the GM of DICE, for the first time, and we immediately began talking about games. I’ve always loved Battlefield and KM was a huge fan of Dead Space, so we started talking about different ways we could work together, different ways we could take Battlefield and action games in a new direction. And from that point, the project that would become Battlefield Hardline was born.

I wish I could tell you more now – more about the ways we are adding new twists and turns to the foundation of Battlefield multiplayer, more about how we’re bringing our strengths at Visceral to single player. But the wait won’t be too long – we’re looking forward to sharing more with you on June 9.

Stay tuned for more information about Battlefield Hardline at E3 and sign up for updates at our web site www.battlefield.com/hardline.
