ilya-muromets-logo1С Game Studios and the Russian Military Historical Society are excited to announce that the Early Access program for Ilya Muromets, a new flight sim from the creators of IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad, starts today.

The official Ilya Muromets web site has been launched and is available at www.ilyamuromets.net. It contains all the latest assets including screenshots and game trailer.

The Ilya Muromets early access version will be available for purchase and download at the official web site for the price of $19.99 USD starting from August 1st, the day when Germany declared war on Russia and the Russian Empire entered World War I.

Ilya Muromets covers the events of the air war on the Eastern Front during World War I and features the gigantic and legendary four-engine bomber of the Imperial Russian Air Force. This plane became the first large bomber in the history of aerial warfare and is the forefather of the multi-engine long-range strategic aviation of later conflicts.

Ilya Muromets will feature several additional fighter planes and attack planes from Russia, Germany and Austro-Hungary. A map covering a portion of the Eastern Front (territory of modern day Ukraine) will be included in the game. This was an active theatre for the Ilya Muromets during the war where several famous missions took place. The game will include a set of challenging single-player mission scenarios along with a quick mission builder and multiplayer capability.

The game is scheduled to be released in October 2014.

Ubisoft has released a new CGI trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Unity that shows Arno racing against time and through a dense and chaotic central Paris in order to prevent the beheading of Elise, a character central to Assassin’s Creed: Unity’s story. As an independent young noblewoman, Elise is determined to secure her place in the Templar dynasty amidst the chaos of the French Revolution. Her quest leads her to cross paths with Arno and establish an unlikely bond with him.

In addition to the new trailer, Ubisoft is offering fans the chance to discover a novel by Oliver Bowden based on Assassin’s Creed: Unity. This new paperback from Penguin Random House builds on Bowden’s past Assassin’s novels – with 3 million copies sold to date – and examines an era when the divide between the rich and poor is at its most extreme, and a nation is tearing itself apart. Told from Elise’s perspective, the book follows her and Arno as they are drawn into the centuries-old battle between the Assassins and the Templars – a world with dangers more deadly than they could ever have imagined – and fight to avenge all they have lost.

Finally, fans can now also order “Elise: The Fiery Templar,” a high quality figurine designed by Ubicollectibles that features Elise as she sets her sights on her target with her gun poised and sword sheathed at the ready on her back. This collectible can be assembled into a diorama with the “Arno: The Fearless Assassin” figurine. Additional digital content for Assassin’s Creed: Unity also is included with the purchase of this collectible.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity will be released worldwide on October 28. The novel Assassin’s: Creed Unity will be available in November. “Elise: The Fiery Templar” figurine will be released on October 14.

All new clan functionality, reworked Prokhorovka map and HD tank models bring more to the battle in Update 9.2

Wargaming today announced that Update 9.2 for World of Tanks is now available in North America. Players from Europe, Asia and Korea will be able to try out new content and features, including the introduction of the Strongholds game mode and a new map, Fire Arc, on July 31. By adding improvements on eight different maps and four reworked HD vehicle models in game, Update 9.2 continues Wargaming’s commitment to consistently refine the gaming experience throughout 2014.

Strongholds is an all new game mode designed specifically for members of Clan Wars. Clan Commanders are now able to create virtual bases for their clans, participate in Skirmishes alongside their fellow players, earn Industrial Resources, develop their Stronghold up to Level 4 and be awarded with special bonuses called Orders. Tankers can use Orders to activate a variety of temporary in-game bonuses for all clan members in all combat modes. As the level of the Stronghold increases, so does the frequency and quality of bonuses received.

“We are very excited to introduce the first iteration of Strongholds to World of Tanks,” said Anton Pankov, Executive Publishing Producer at Wargaming. “It is an extremely engaging game mode that combines tactics, strategy and action elements, bringing more depth to the World of Tanks metagame. Strongholds will evolve over time based on feedback from the World of Tanks community.”

In addition to Strongholds, Update 9.2 also introduces Fire Arc, the new version of Prokhorovka battle arena with stunning visual effects, as well as four new HD models including the Soviet IS and SU-100, the German StuG III and the British Churchill I, and improvements to eight in-game maps that have been reworked based on player requests.

nec-multisync-ea244uhd-24-inch-4k-monitorBy Paul Lilly @ HotHardware

What we have to evaluate today is NEC‘s new MultiSync EA244UHD, a 24-inch 4K Ultra HD monitor. As part of NEC’s EA series, this monitor is intended for high-end desktop users as opposed to professional graphics users, though there are features of the EA244UHD that may tempt potential customers who fall into the latter category. Things that separate this monitor from a traditional desktop display include extras like up to four-way display matrix support (there are multiple inputs for connecting multiple PCs), a ControlSync feature that lets users control the settings for up to half a dozen daisychained displays, a high-speed USB 3.0 hub, and a standard warranty that even covers the backlight for the first three years.
