With the arrival of U.S. troops, a fourth nation is joining World War I tonight. As a thank-you to its player base, developer Flying Squirrel Entertainment is bringing a massive content update for free to Over The Top: WWI. Included in the free update is the option to play the game in a classic first-person perspective, a much-requested feature by fans. The update also introduces a new, fully defined American faction. The faction introduces a wide variety of new weapons, vehicles, and uniforms per class – historically inspired by US Army designs.

Starting with the release of the new update, from 10 am P.T. tonight until 10 am on Monday, the game will be featured on Steam as part of a Free-Play Weekend and can be tried out completely free of charge. During and after the weekend, until August 27, the game will be 40% off. So players can take as many trips into the trenches as they wish, at the cost of €11.48/$11.48/9.59 GBP.

In addition, the game is introducing the paid DLC Over The Top: WWI – Harlem Hellfighters, which provides players with a wide selection of cosmetic items. The focus is on the Harlem Hellfighters, a notorious American infantry unit that was so successful during World War I that it was awarded the Croix de Guerre by the French Army. The cosmetic DLC includes dedicated Harlem Hellfighters outfits for eight classes, as well as four headgear options for each class. The DLC is available on Steam for €3.99/$3.99 /3.33 GBP.
