fallout4-logoSteam News has announced that the new DLC Fallout 4 Far Harbor is now available. To celebrate the release, Bethesda is offering Fallout 4 at 33% off until May 23rd at 10AM Pacific Time.

Here’s a bit about the new DLC:

A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.

Fallout 4′s Far Harbor expansion adds a large new zone set in post-apocalyptic Maine. You’re on a mission from Valentine’s Detective Agency to find a missing person, but Far Harbor’s old fishing villages have become flashpoints in a faction war, and the swamps have become breeding grounds for some ugly new creatures.

It looks a lot like a more detailed take on Fallout 3′s Maryland-set Point Lookout DLC, though that didn’t feature a giant harpoon cannon or a suit of military armour that makes you look like a mud-spattered Master Chief.

Get an exclusive look into the making of Fallout 4’s Far Harbor from Bethesda Game Studios here.

Far Harbor is out tomorrow, Thursday May 19.

The Division team has released the first details on the free Conflict update – the second of two free updates for The Division – which arrives May 24 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. One of its biggest additions is Clear Sky, a brand new Incursion in Columbus Circle. Pitting Division Agents against Rikers, Clear Sky challenges you to take back a formerly LMB-controlled anti-air missile site, restore safe passage to the skies over Manhattan, and reclaim supply drops stolen by Rikers.

Another new feature coming in the Conflict update is high-value targets (HVT). The HVT officer inside your base of operations will provide you with a list of these targets, along with a description, their level, and the recommended gear score you need to engage them. You’ll have a limited amount of time and only one chance to take down these targets.

The Dark Zone will see some changes that are going to make extractions even more intense than they were before. Specifically, Agents will now have the option to hijack your loot. This means that a player can run to an extraction rope and cut it, causing all of the loot to fall to the ground.

A new trailer from Bethesda Softworks shows off the upcoming Far Harbor expansion for Fallout 4. The clip shows off new content they are adding to their action/RPG sequel, and also reveals a release date, saying:

“Preview your journey to Far Harbor, the next game-on for Fallout 4. Far Harbor docks on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on Thursday, May 19th.”

This will be sold separately (though the original game is required), and is also part of the game’s season pass.

fallout4-logoMods and the players who create them have always been an important part of our games, going all the way back to Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls Construction Set. We believe that our games become something much more special, when we put the power of creation in your hands. New quests, environments, characters, dialogue, outfits, weapons and more – with Mods, the possibilities of what you can do are endless. You are creating new experiences that enhance and take our games into amazing and surprising new directions.

For Fallout 4, our goal was to make Mods easier and more accessible than ever before – for both the creators and the players. By building an all-new system with Bethesda.net we’ve made a huge leap forward in achieving that.

You can now browse and search for the latest and greatest Mods, choose your favorites, post feedback, and install them – all within the game. Simply select Mods from the main menu, and start browsing.

If you want to try making Mods (and we think everybody should), the Creation Kit – the same tool that we used to create Fallout 4 – is a free download via the Bethesda.net launcher. You can check out the Creation Kit Wiki, our online documentation and help file, for more details and tips on how to make them.

We plan to update and evolve Mods and the Creation Kit based on your experiences so be sure to leave feedback in our forums.

How to access the 1.5 Update in Steam Beta:

  • Log into Steam
  • Right Click on Fallout 4 in your Library
  • Select Settings
  • Select Betas
  • A drop down menu will appear. Select beta

Incursions, the first of two free updates for The Division, is now available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. This new 1.1 update adds several new features to the game – the most notable being the Falcon Lost incursion. This new area within the game pits Division Agents against wave after wave of LMB soldiers who guard an important water treatment facility. Also arriving with the Incursions update are Dark Zone supply drops (that contain uncontaminated gear) and assignments, which give players rewards for completing a series of designated tasks that change periodically. In addition to these activities, players will have access to player trading and new gear sets with all-new perks and bonuses. Watch the Tom Clancy’s The Division Update 1.1 trailer here.

Today also marks the arrival of Operation ISAC. Every Tuesday, players will get in-game missions from Simon – a technician in charge of the only ISAC system node in New York City. Completing these missions will give rewards. Watch the Operation ISAC trailer here.

For a full rundown on what’s included in the Incursions update you can check out this story here.

Ubisoft announces the release of Tom Clancy’s The Division, calling it an open-world action/RPG this time, and saying it should now be available for Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. This post on the game’s official website covers what to expect from a day one patch with a list of changes since the open beta. There’s a post about the release on the UbiBlog that features the previously released launch trailer, and the following details:

Have you been itching to take to the streets and restore order to an epidemic-ravaged Manhattan? The Division is ready for you, and you can now explore its online open world on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Casting you as an elite sleeper Agent equipped with realistic weapons and futuristic tactical gear, The Division invites you to match wits with deadly roving gangs and other players while you fight to reclaim New York from chaos.

An action-RPG, The Division gives you not just the chance to freely roam Manhattan with up to three other players, but to customize your Agent to suit your play style and/or preferred role on the team. You’ll also encounter other teams in the quarantined Dark Zone, where – amid battling other threats – you’ll have the choice of working together or turning on other Agents for a chance at snagging rare weapons and equipment for yourself.

The Division arrives alongside its companion book, The Division: New York Collapse, which takes the form of a survival guide filled with scribbled notes and removable clues left by a survivor as she investigated the mystery behind the pandemic. To see excerpts from The Division: New York Collapse, take a look at our previous coverage.
