The Activision Blog offers new details on the Special Ops mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that’s reimagined in the new installment in the shooter series. You can also cast your specs on a new Special Ops Trailer that uses cinematics to show how this mode has evolved. Here’s the summary:

Available on all platforms when Modern Warfare launches on October 25, one of the series’ most-beloved game modes is back. Reimagined as a collection of expansive, interconnected Operations against a new and encroaching threat, players will assemble into strike-teams of four to execute multi-phased objectives, which together will advance the overarching story of Modern Warfare.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is due later this month, and Activision paves the way with the release of a Launch Gameplay Trailer from Infinity Ward’s next military shooter. Despite the use of the term “gameplay,” this seems to be almost entirely composed of cinematics, set to the soothing tones of Metallica.

Pre-orders at participating retailers are available now, or at CallofDuty.com.

The new event will allow players to obtain rare military vehicles by performing well on the battlefield

Gaijin Entertainment announces the start of the Operation Shipyard event in the military online action game, War Thunder. Participating players will be able to get four rare vehicles – an MBK-161 armoured boat, the VT 1-2 SPG, a Whirlwind P.9 fighter and the H-34 helicopter.

The most interesting prize is the German experimental VT 1-2 self-propelled gun that was developed in Germany in the early 70’s as part of the replacement program for the more traditional tanks. The VT1-2 has two powerful 120 mm guns without any conventional traverse – the cannons are rotated using the whole hull via the tracks. As was the case with the actual constructed prototype, the in-game version of the VT1-2 has been modeled without the use of armoured steel, so it does not have much protection and the players would be better to rely on its firepower and mobility.

While Operation Shipyard runs, players will get materials and blueprints they need to produce the armoured boat parts and assemble the whole vehicle. For a completed MBK-161, players will get vouchers that can be exchanged for event vehicles or sold in the market. In order to get access to the VT 1-2 and H-34, players should also collect tank blueprints. There are two ways for those who want to get the new vehicles as fast as possible: players can either play well and finish their battles in first place more often, or purchase the missing items in the Market.

The full details of the Operation Shipyard event are available HERE.

armored-brigadeThe Beta to test the New Stacking limit in Armored Brigade has been a success. Thanks to all the testers who have helped with their feedback and suggestions, this important feature has been implemented for everyone.

You can download the update from HERE.

The new stacking limit is a major change for the game. It has been discussed by the community and the developers for a while now, but it posed some technical challenges, and we had to make sure the change would not compromise the simulation, or the AI’s capabilities. After adopting the game code to handle it, we have found that 3 units per square work best.

Thanks to this change, the game now flows even more naturally, and unit pathfinding has been greatly improved. The AI has been adjusted to be aware and utilise the new stacking limit, so players should also see improvements in its behavior.

ghost-recon-breakpointTom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is now available for Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The PC edition of Ubisoft’s tactical shooter series is sold through the Epic Games Store and is also available on the Uplay +*, Ubisoft’s subscription service.

Developed by Ubisoft Paris,** Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a military shooter set in a diverse and hostile open world entirely playable solo or in up to four-player co-op. Players will discover Auroa, a mysterious island where the most technically advanced facilities meet wild and untamed nature. Home to tech giant and drone creators, Skell Technology, Auroa has fallen into the wrong hands and all contact has been lost. The Wolves, a lethal ex-US military unit of former Ghosts gone rogue, have taken over the island. Led by Nomad’s ex-brother-in-arms, Lt. Colonel Cole D. Walker, portrayed by Jon Bernthal, the Wolves have reprogrammed Skell’s drones into killing machines and are ready to use them, no matter the casualties.

Nomad and the Ghosts are sent on a recon mission, but their helicopters are shot down. Injured, without support and hunted down, players will live an intense military experience as they fight to survive, take down the Wolves and regain control of Auroa.

Steep slopes, accumulating injuries and fatigue are new challenges for players to tackle as they test their survival skills in the varied terrains of Auroa. Players will enjoy total freedom to accomplish their missions and have plenty of tactical options and tools at their disposal, including a set of new military features. They will be able to carry enemies and teammates’ bodies, blend into their environment with prone camo and set up camp with teammates in the bivouac to manage equipment, change classes and fine-tune their strategies.

Additionally, Ghost War, the game’s PvP mode, is seamlessly integrated within the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint experience. With the new shared progression system, each player will progress in PvE and PvP with the same character and keep their unlocked classes, skills, customization items and weapons across both modes. Specific tuning will be implemented for PvP to ensure a fair and skill-based experience for all players.

The launch of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is just the beginning, as there is a robust post-launch content support plan with regular updates. Episode one will bring Project Titan, the first raid to come to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, along with new Faction missions, PvP updates and the first new class, engineer. It will also showcase the first live event, featuring the Terminator. Episodes two and three will offer two new Adventures, two new classes, several PvP updates, new end-game content and various live events. Each faction in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint will evolve through new narrative missions regularly added to the game. Players will also have access to 14 daily missions that will bring fresh tactical challenges in the open world.

Year One Pass owners will have access to all Year One Adventures and their rewards, including one-week early access to the three new classes and instant unlock to the Siren’s Call mission and the Special Operations Forces Pack. Additionally, Episode one, Operation Greenstone, will be available for players starting today.

close-combat-the-bloody-firstLead the Big Red One on the road to victory

North Africa, Sicily, Normandy: Close Combat: The Bloody First is ready to storm over Axis’ positions. The new chapter that reinvents the classic series is now available on PC with three Campaigns divided into 11 Operations and 36 Battles. Players take the lead of the 1st US Infantry Division and fight their way through Tunisia, South Italy and the final assault on D-Day’s beaches.

The new 3D Archon engine powers Close Combat: The Bloody First battles with full three-dimensional maps where hills and woods can block the line of sight. Close Combat: The Bloody First, faithful to the heritage of the classic series, is a tactical RTS where strategy counts: players can’t blindly launch mindless attacks on enemy positions without losing their army in minutes.

Morale also plays a central part in battles: units under fire will be pinned, will panic and flee. Players need to carefully plan their attacks and use real-world infantry tactics as real commanding officers would do: flank enemy machine-guns nests, use smoke barrages to cover their advances, scout no man’s land to order artillery bombardments or air strikes on dug-in enemy positions.

Multiplayer: like in all previous Close Combat games, The Bloody First is a joy to play online. A serious simulation where players can fight with human opponents in real-time, or team up with them and play coop against the AI.

Close Combat: The Bloody First, the latest title in the famous Close Combat series, is now available for purchase on the Matrix Games Store, the Slitherine Store and on Steam.

Stop by the official Close Combat: The Bloody First webpage for more game information!
