“Leviathan” Gives Players More Development Options

Picture a capital city that shines like a gemstone, improved by the wealth drawn from the hinterland – decorated by riches demanded from vassals. A capital not of a mighty territorial empire, but of a compact and concentrated state that can still use gold and favors to influence neighbors and rivals. Picture it and then make it so in Europa Universalis IV: Leviathan.

Leviathan is the newest expansion to Paradox’s flagship grand strategy game about the early modern world. Leviathan offers new tools that allow you to play “tall” with smaller and more focused realms with a few centers of power. It also has a host of other changes to well-established game features like Regencies and Colonies.

Among other things, Leviathan gives you new ways to quickly develop your capital, drawing resources and power from vassals or newly conquered territories, and allows you to build beyond your province’s construction limit if you are willing to pay the price.

World of Tanks Is Heading to Steam

The legendary free-to-play shooter is “coming soon” to the new platform

Today, Wargaming announced its plans to bring World of Tanks to Steam. Once live, both players of the regular PC version and Steam users will be able to fight side by side in the immersive PvP battles the legendary F2P strategic shooter is known for. The Steam version will be available to new accounts only but will feature everything its PC counterpart has to offer.

“We’ve always wanted to make sure World of Tanks was available to everyone, so it’s a natural step that we welcome the Steam community to our family,” states Max Chuvalov, Global Publishing Director, World of Tanks. “Soon, Steam users will be able to enjoy the hard-hitting battles only our game provides, and we really hope they enjoy them!”

For the first time, Steam players will be able to master more than 600+ vehicles, hone their tanking tactics and skills and experience World of Tanks’ unique combat. The Steam version will launch later this year. For more information, check out the Steam page.

Victory At Sea Ironclad comes to the Steam Games Festival

Victory At Sea Ironclad demo launches as part of the celebrations

‘Evil Twin Artworks’, the award winning indie team behind PC RTS classic, ‘Victory At Sea’, Man O’ War: Corsair and Victory At Sea Pacific has launched a demo of its long awaited follow up, Victory At Sea Ironclad, as part of the Steam Games Festival.

“We thought it would be great to get at least a taste of what is to come in Victory At Sea Ironclad with a demo” said James Carroll, Director at Evil Twin Artworks. “The Steam Games Festival seemed like a good place to start!”

The Setting

With dynastic struggles and rebellions by powerful nobles thrown into the mix, Europe was in an almost constant state of war.

The Armies

Lead your chosen army and its named generals to victory in set-piece historical battles or “what-if” custom battle situations against an AI or human opponent. Choose your forces from historically accurate orders of battle allowing all of the options and variations that would be available to a real general of that nation at any date during the era. Field of Glory II Medieval has more than 100 beautiful and historically accurate fully animated troop units, each with multiple variations to bring out the colour and variety of the era. Watch the swords flash and the arrows fly! Count the cost of victory or defeat as bodies litter the battlefield.

The Battles

Field of Glory II Medieval has a campaign system that concentrates on the battles, and allows real strategic decisions without time spent moving armies around a strategic map. Each battle is vital to your progress. Your army will gain experience and elan as it goes from victory to victory against your enemies and their allies. There are four historically-based campaigns covering major conflicts of the era: The Angevin Empire, The Northern Crusades, Alexander Nevsky and the Mongol Invasions. There is also a sandbox campaign system that allows you to lead any nation (and their historical allies) against any other nation (and their allies) – giving thousands of permutations. Victory will require determination and tactical mastery.

EA Confirms Battlefield 6 to Arrive End of the Year in an Unprecedented Scale

The marketing hype has already begun. During Electronic Arts’ fiscal 2021 third-quarter earnings call, Andrew Wilson CEO of EAm shared some news about the upcoming Battlefield and revealed that the new game is coming by the end of the year.

It’s not really a secret and unexpected of course, the game arriving this year but the new Battlefield installment will offer a “total military war and will have support for more players than ever. This probably means that the game will be capped at more than 64 players. Also, the title reveal will take place this fall.

“We look forward to sharing much more about our plans for this new fiscal year in the coming months, including our upcoming Battlefield experience, which will mark a return to all-out military warfare.”

“The game takes full advantage of the power of next-generation platforms to bring massive and immersive battles to life with more players than ever before. With maps of an unprecedented scale, the next edition of Battlefield takes all the destruction, vehicles, and combat weapons that the franchise is known for and takes it to another level. ”

“The team is focused and the game is ahead of our internal milestones. We will reveal the game in the spring and deliver a defining Battlefield experience for our players in the 2021 holiday season.“

AMD Releases Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.2.1

AMD has released the latest version of Radeon Software Adrenalin drivers. Version 21.2.1 beta comes with optimization for “Medium,” with a 9% performance increase at 4K measured using an RX 6800 XT graphics card, over the previous driver. A number of bugs and issues are also addressed. To begin with stuttering noticed on certain RX Vega series graphics cards at high refresh rates. A screen flickering observed with MSI Afterburner has been fixed. A bug that caused recording and streaming with Radeon Software, on Radeon HD 7800 series GPUs, has been fixed. A rendering error with SketchUp on RDNA GPUs has been fixed. Samsung CRG9 displays waking up from screen to black screens, has been fixed. Application crashes with “Metro Exodus” with DXR enabled, have been fixed. Video playback on other displays in a multi-display setup, during “Doom Eternal” gameplay on one of the displays, experiences stutter, which has been fixed.
