Deep Silver and 4A Games are thrilled to announce that Sam’s Story, the second major story DLC for Metro Exodus is out now while also confirming that Metro Exodus will return to Steam on February 15th.

Sam’s Story follows former US Marine Sam, a Spartan Ranger who has worked under Colonel Miller since the nuclear war devastated Moscow, and followed Artyom in search of a world outside of the Metro. Sam had long dreamed of returning to his homeland, and perhaps even finding his father alive. The prospect seemed impossible in the darkened tunnels of the Metro, but when the Spartans discovered that Moscow was not the only city left alive after the war, holding out hope didn’t feel so foolish anymore.

Sam, determined to find a way back to the USA, departed from the Aurora to make his way through Vladivostok’s tsunami ravaged harbours, ruined industrial buildings, and crumbling residential districts. However, to complete his journey, Sam will discover that he needs every tactic he has learned so far to survive, as his surroundings prove to be far trickier than expected.

In this expansive ‘sandbox survival’ level, players will experience another gripping story line featuring new characters, weapons and mutant variants, in a huge, non-linear environment that offers hours of gameplay.

Days of War: Definitive Edition is now officially available for Windows on Steam following three years of Early Access for this multiplayer World War II shooter. Word is: “With release, players will receive fast-paced World War II multiplayer experience that features a bevy of classes, weapons, maps, and more. The looming release of Zombie Army 4 draws ever closer, but there’s a whole new realm of terror lurking just behind! Ubisoft has announced a partnership with StudioCanal that will bring the Terminator to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Breakpoint. The free event will feature multiple mission settings, enemies and dialogues inspired from the original 1984 The Terminator movie. The event will be available for all players starting tomorrow, 9am GMT on the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X, PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Windows PC, UPLAY+, Ubisoft’s subscription service, and Stadia, the new generation gaming platform from Google.

Entirely playable in solo or co-op, the Terminator Live Event will have players gear up and face an unexpected threat from the future in a new story arc taking place in a new location on Auroa.

Two main narrative missions will be introduced, during which players will have to rescue and partner with Rasa Aldwin, a woman coming from the future, in the hope of stopping the Terminators’ plans. These two missions will be available starting 29th January and 1st February, respectively, and will remain in-game once the event ends. In addition, players will be able to face the challenging T-800 cyborgs in daily warfare and interception missions.

Upon completing missions during the live event which will run from 29th January to 6th February, players will be rewarded with exclusive items inspired by The Terminator, including the movie’s iconic punk outfit, as well as exclusive new Terminator weapons and vehicles. In addition to the rewards granted by completing the event’s missions, players will be able to further customise their Ghosts with two Terminator-inspired packs, allowing players to fully transform into the Terminator or Kyle Reese in-game.

The Terminator Live Event comes as part of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s Episode I, and follows the launch of the first raid in franchise history as well as a series of free updates that brought major improvements to the game. The game will continue to receive regular updates in the coming months, in line with the commitment made in the Moving Forward letter to expand and improve the game based on player feedback.

Infinity Ward announces the solution to yesterday’s problems with the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch. Word this is this should be solved thanks to a new backend fix. They are also working on a fix for those users who did not ignore the error prompt as they eventually suggested. Word is that though your stats were reset, your progression is intact:

We want to give a status update on the error prompt issue that occurred while rolling out today’s title update.

A backend fix has already been deployed across all platforms, so you won’t see a download prompt or see anything pop-up on screen to notify you a fix is available. This fix looks at two things:

Loadout Slots:

Part of today’s update included additional loadout slots. If you created classes in these slots, you’ll see that they have been reset back to default. This will only happen one time. If you didn’t create any additional classes in those slots, you won’t notice anything. This also fixes an issue where clicking on these slots could kick some players back to the multiplayer screen.

Error Prompt:

• If you were presented with the error prompt and did not click “Yes” and closed the game, your stats are still intact. Feel free to play as usual.
• If you did click “Yes” – you most likely noticed your stats in the combat record, leaderboards, custom classes, and Operators were reset. Nothing related to your progression was lost, so your rank, XP, Battle Pass progression, weapon progression, unlocks, purchases, etc., are all still intact.

We’re actively working on a fix for this, but do not have one to deploy tonight. You are still able to play the game as usual and your progression will still track, but please be aware that once we do have a fix, we may have to roll back your stats to the state they were in prior to today’s update.

We appreciate everyone’s patience while we work through this issue and thank you to everyone who has helped by sending us their information, videos, and screenshots. We’ll provide another update when we have more information for those whose stats were reset and again, thank you all for your patience.

Infinity Ward announces that Season One for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is being extended until February 11th:

Over the next few weeks, a host of new items and challenges will arrive, including an in-game Challenge to earn the new Crossbow weapon, more remixed game modes, new playlists, and more in the Store to discover. To make room for all that activity, we are making a one-time extension of Season One – it’s now ending on February 11. During that time, there will be 2XP, 2X Weapon XP, and 2X Tier Progression to help you finish up your Officer Ranks and Tiers, and get you ready for an exciting Season Two.

ARMA 3′S NEW ‘OLD MAN’ SCENARIO TURNS THIS MILITARY SHOOTER INTO AN OPEN WORLD ADVENTURE

Just before the holiday break, Bohemia Interactive dropped a bit of a bombshell on us: they were putting the beta version of the upcoming Old Man scenario for Arma 3 on the Steam Workshop for anyone to try out. Admittedly, I had not been paying a lot of attention to the latest in Arma news since Contact came out in the summer, so Old Man came as a complete surprise. And it’s continued to surprise me as I’ve played this huge scenario.

Old Man is a singleplayer scenario set on Tanoa, a fictional South Pacific island included with the Apex expansion. It pulls in elements of many of Arma 3′s other DLCs, but it’s doing something completely novel for an Arma 3 add-on. It feels somewhat surreal to say this, but some skunkworks project at Bohemia is creating the Arma 3 version of Far Cry, and it’s going to be free for all players (as long as you own Apex, that is).
