battlefield-6Electronic Arts Inc. and Battlefield Studios today launched Season 2 across Battlefield 6 and REDSEC. Season 2 sends the fight to Europe with two new maps, limited-time modes, and much more, rolling out across three seasonal phases beginning today.

Launching across Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC, Season 2 introduces two all-new maps, Contaminated, a large-scale map set in a once-vibrant forest now scarred by experimental weapons and heavy shelling, alongside Hagental Base, a military facility that becomes the stage for intense close-quarters combat and stealth-focused gameplay later in the season.

BATTLEFIELD 6 OFFICIAL SEASON 2 GAMEPLAY TRAILER

Phase 1: Extreme Measures, begins today with the debut of Contaminated, and the introduction of VL-7, a new limited-time experience built around psychoactive smoke intensifying combat. These smoke clouds blanket key areas of the map, disorienting players with immersive hallucinations and forcing squads to adapt in real time.

On March 17, Phase 2: Nightfall takes the battle to the deepest depths of a military facility called Hagental Base. Tied to this phase’s theme, a limited time mode brings darkness to the map, where blacked out corridors create a stealth driven experience. Players gain access to Night Vision Goggles, allowing squads to navigate the darkness and gain the tactical advantage. Nightfall will also arrive in Battlefield REDSEC with a dedicated Gauntlet playlist.

Season 2 concludes on April 17 with Phase 3: Hunter & Prey, introducing Operation Augur, a limited-time mode across both Contaminated and Hagental Base. Inspired by Battlefield 1’s Operations mode, this is Battlefield at its most cinematic, with emphasis on large-scale objectives, sustained momentum, and squad coordination over the course of an extended campaign.

Additional Season 2 highlights include new weapons, vehicles, gadgets, and customization options rolling out across all three phases, along with a new Battle Pass and store content.

Battlefield 6 and REDSEC are available on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam™, EA App, Epic Games Store).

battlefield-6Battlefield Studios announced today an extension of Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC first season, will include new weekly challenges, a Bonus Path, and a continuation of the Season 1 Battle Pass.

The first season will now run until the launch of Season 2 on February 17, with the Season 1 extension update being released on January 20. This revised launch has been implemented to allow extra time to further develop and refine Season 2 as a result of community feedback.

Available on January 27, the Frostfire Bonus Path gives players the chance to unlock new free and premium customization rewards, including a Weapon Package and a Soldier Skin, as well as XP Boosts, by advancing through the tiers of the Frostfire Bonus Path. Premium Tier Rewards require purchase of the Season 1 Battle Pass.

Free rewards from the Frostfire Bonus Path will include a Hardware XP Boost, a Vehicle Skin and playercard customization items, while Battle Pass owners can grab a new Weapon Package, a Career XP Boost and additional customization items.

The Frostfire Bonus Path can be completed concurrently alongside the Season 1 Battle Pass. Players do not need to choose to make progress between a Season 1 Battle Pass Path – i.e. Rogue Ops, Soldiers Of Fortune – and the Frostfire Bonus Path. Each Bonus Path Tier requires 10 Bonus Path Points to unlock, with a total of 110 Bonus Path points required to fully complete the Bonus Path. Unlike previous Bonus Paths, all Bonus Path Points for the Frostfire Bonus Path are earned through Weekly Challenges; there are no Bonus Challenges associated with this Bonus Path.

Later this update, love is a battlefield as the team will be celebrating Valentine’s Day. Another set of Daily Login Rewards will be introduced, alongside several Double XP Weekends throughout the update period.

The Season 1 extension update also includes various updates and fixes. Full information about what those updates and fixes entail can be found in the “Game Updates” section of our website here.

battlefield-6Today, Battlefield Studios launched brand new seasonal content for Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC, with Today’s release of Season 1 – Winter Offensive. This update includes a frozen version of the Empire State map for limited-time game experiences, a Bonus Path containing the new Ice Climbing Axe and much more. The Winter Offensive update also arrives as the REDSEC Elite Series kicks off for top-tier competitive play.

Players can gear up, stay warm, and take complete control of the borough of Brooklyn in Ice Lock, a limited-time visual update to the Empire State map in Battlefield 6 and REDSEC. For this event in Battlefield 6, special versions of Conquest and Domination will be available to play with a Freeze mechanic fully active. With Freeze, areas around the Combat Zone have sub-zero temperatures – over time, a soldier will feel the effects of the Freeze. To avoid being frozen, soldiers can sprint or use an Adrenaline Injector. Alternatively, they can visit designated heat zones around the map to thaw out. This mechanic is only active in specific experiences and is designed to challenge squads to tactically manage resources. Do players risk freezing over to capture a crucial objective or pack enough heat in their loadouts to torch the opposition?

Ice Lock is also coming to REDSEC and will feature a Limited-Time variant in Gauntlet that adds to the experience’s relentless nature with the sheer force of harsh winter conditions. Ice Lock Gauntlet will have a locked set of three missions in every match: Deadlock, Extraction and Wreckage.

With the Winter Offensive Bonus Path players can access a number of new unlockables including the new Ice Climbing Axe and premium customization rewards.

For those mastering Portal, the Winter Offensive update will now be able to use the following new features in their creations allowing more freedom than ever to craft and customize unforgettable experiences.

  • Verified Gauntlet – The full REDSEC mode offerings are now available in Portal. Players can create their own Gauntlet experience, from casual to competitive, with all missions available for use!
  • Ice Lock Empire State – Use the wintery version of Empire State as the backdrop to custom carnage-filled creation, or simply add it to the map rotation of a hand-crafted verified experience.
  • Freeze – Even in the heat of Cairo, use this new mechanic to add freeze and heat zones to the experience.
  • The Winter Offensive update (Patch 1.1.3.0) also includes improvements to soldier clarity, weapon reliability, vehicle behavior, audio consistency, and overall gameplay flow. More technical information about these patches can be found in the “Game Updates” section of our website here.
