“We are doing the Early Access to learn, what the players want” explains Fabian Baumgarten, Producer at development studio NUKKLEAR, “and it became quite clear, that we wanted to totally overhaul our controls, add more single-player content and quality of life features.”

Therefore, Update 3 will add the new single-player mission “Bank Job” to the campaign, where the player leads an assault of ground forces with his Comanche attack helicopter. Together with a whole IJTF Strike Force, the Comanche will witness a full offensive against the Kude Core’s last stronghold in the middle of the desert.

Next to loads of new content like the continuation of the single-player campaign, developer NUKKLEAR took the time to take a deep look into the helicopter controls. Players can now choose between “Arcade” and “Simulation” controls, which play drastically different from another and will satisfy casual and experienced players alike.

Speaking of controls: For this update, NUKKLEAR and Thrustmaster teamed up to support the most important Thrustmaster HOTAS devices natively. Additionally, the frequently requested 3rd-person mode has been added to the game.

The resurrected MicroProse announces plans to resurrect one of their franchises, saying a new version of the Mighty Eighth is in the works. This World War II bomber game will support virtual reality as well as non-VR gameplay. This will allow you to serve as part of the 10-player crew of a B-17 or B-24 along with live or AI crewmates. In the singleplayer mission, the player is tasked with a covert operation to dismantle the plans of Kude Core, the antagonist faction, deep within enemy territory. To achieve this he will be operating the Ghost Comanche to avoid detection and needs to pick his fights well to succeed.

Comanche’s first Early Access update is now live and already incorporates valuable feedback from the community.

Multiplayer

The 4vs4 team-based multiplayer will start with two modes, one called Black Box, the other Infiltration. In Black Box, the goal is to collect more black boxes from destroyed Comanches with your drone. You can collect both enemy and friendly black boxes using the drone, so this mode guarantees intense team fights at close range. Infiltration again combines helicopter combat and drone piloting: your objective is to either defend or infiltrate a base. Attackers must place an EMP, defenders must disarm it.

Flight & Combat Training

In a variety of different missions, you can learn how to fly your Comanche and its drone to familiarise yourself with the flight controls and how to maneuver in combat. As Comanche requires some practice before you become a good pilot, we highly recommend players check out the training missions.

Available Helicopters & Drones

Five Comanches and four drones will be available at the Early Access launch, all coming with specific weapons, abilities and strengths and weaknesses. Each type of Comanche has a certain role to fulfill in the team-based combat and is suitable for a special type of player, so choose your favorite.
