Discover new vessels to unlock, upgrade, and master

In the wake of World of Warships’ release just over a month ago, captains can now get behind the helm of vessels from two distinct nations: Germany and the Soviet Union.

On the horizon for the German fleet are Dresden and Hermelin cruisers, swift vessels capable of running rings around opponents. If that’s not enough, this new line of German cruisers boast great endurance—especially as players progress up the Tech Tree—along with solid armor and powerful guns.

The Soviet Tech Tree is ready to make some waves with Izyaslav, Gnevny and Tashkent destroyers—plus many more. These vessels are the sharpshooters of the sea; easily picking off targets from afar with their hard-hitting canons and superb accuracy. Soviet destroyers are also extremely rapid making them a hard target to scuttle. When adding their strong anti-aircraft armaments and rapid turret rotation into the mix, players have a set of devastating attack runners on their hands.

360° experience produced in cooperation with Google immerses viewers in a historic 1941 battle recreation

Wargaming today released “1941 Battle: 360° Reenactment”, a unique 360° virtual reality video that teleports the viewer into the heart of battle with four tanks, 40 infantry reenactors, artillery and warplanes for the first time ever.

“Wargaming is excited to share our passion for history, and to use innovative technology to bring history alive,” said Tracy Spaight, Director of Special Projects at Wargaming. “Recreating this historic tank battle in 360°, with iconic tanks like the T-34 and Panzer III, will reignite the past like never before.”

Earlier this year, Wargaming’s global PC phenomenon World of Tanks, in partnership with Google and The Bovington Tank Museum, released a series of five 360° videos titled “Virtually Inside the Tanks”. Covering famous vehicles such as the M4 Sherman from the movie “FURY”, viewers could discover some of history’s most notable tanks, inside and out.

A new pack of destroyers is set to hunt down the competition

Wargaming today announced that the Soviet Tech Tree will be joining the armada beginning October 19. Setting sail to cause some destruction will be a full destroyer line, including the legendary Izyaslav, Gnevny and Tashkent, the lead destroyer of Project 20 I whose cobalt blue color earned her the nickname “blue cruiser”.

Soviet destroyers bring unique features and strengths to the fight. The hard-hitting cannons deliver great accuracy making hitting even the fastest targets at long distance a breeze. Coupled with extremely high speed, strong anti-aircraft armaments and rapid turret rotation at higher Tiers, these new Soviet vessels are capable of delivering devastating attacks run.

“We’re looking forward to letting players command this line of Soviet destroyers,” said Daniil Volkov, World of Warships Development Director. “Working towards new and interesting content to give players different ways to battle is a priority for the team and these upcoming additions will open up some distinct vessels for commanders to discover and leverage in combat.”

Alongside the USSR Tech Tree, World of Warships will also be welcoming German cruisers to the fleet. These stalwart vessels boast high endurance, solid armor and powerful weaponry, making the invaluable in the most hectic battle. Chart a course for epic naval warfare

Wargaming is proud to announce that World of Warships is now live. This latest, highly-anticipated installment in Wargaming’s free-to-play combat series lets players seize the helm of history’s most iconic vessels and take part in giant battles.

“World of Warships is our biggest release this year,” said Victor Kislyi, Wargaming CEO. “Everyone involved has put their heart and soul into creating a truly outstanding title, and we are extremely proud to share it with gamers across the world. In World of Warships, aspiring commanders have four distinct classes of ships at their command, and a myriad of upgrades and strategically designed environments, ensuring the action never ends. Cruisers are incredibly versatile vessels, ready to take on any other ship in the game and pick off scuttled opponents. Destroyers are quick and maneuverable, able to dodge enemy fire and deliver a well-executed torpedo strike. Battleships are heavy-hitting powerhouses, perfect for dealing massive damage. Finally, tactical Aircraft Carriers bring a real-time strategy dynamic, with scout planes to enemy vessels and torpedo bombers dropping their devastating payload.

Tiers 2–10 vehicles bolster Japanese Tech Tree and new Rampage event

Wargaming has announced that update 9.10 for World of Tanks is now live globally, bringing nine new Japanese vehicles and the next exciting stage in Domination event: Rampage.

This new branch of Japanese tanks sees Tiers 2 through 10 get some serious backup in a series of heavy-hitting vehicles, featuring medium and heavy tanks. Notable vehicles include the Type 91, a Tier 3, which is the first Japanese heavy tank in the game, with a high damage-per-minute output. Tanks from Tiers 6–9, featuring the Tier 6 O-I, Tier 7 O-Ni, Tier 8 O-Ho, and Tier 9 Type 4 Heavy, boast tough armor and powerful weaponry. Finally, the Type 5 Heavy at Tier 10 has thick armor and a devastating 140 mm gun.

What makes this new tank line even more special is that Japanese company FineMolds provided World of Tanks with a 3D tank models based on the O-I. The blueprints were assumed destroyed, but by working together, FineMolds and World of Tanks were able to bring these vehicles to life in-game. The models helped designers construct the O-I-Experimental and continue Wargaming’s mission of historical accuracy in their titles. This collaboration continues with a series of World of Tanks plastic models for sale, starting with the Type 1 Chi-He, Type 4 Chi-To, and the Type 5 Chi-Ri medium tanks.

Update 9.10 also brings Rampage event, containing Steel Hunt and Domination. Players can rent one of the three tanks to engage in the event: the AMX 50 B (D), the Object 140 (D) and the Т110Е5 (D), as well as use their vehicles that comply with the rules. In Steel Hunt, players can command Tier 10 vehicles exclusively, with the ability to respawn in their battle to capture flags, earning the most Victory Points. In Domination, players can use their Tier 8–10 vehicles in furious 10 minute battles to destroy enemy tanks and transport captured flags to select zones to score Victory Points.

Map availability has also been introduced. Now players will be able to battle across more maps as they work up the Tech Tree, unlocking more tiers. A new garage tutorial also makes it easier than ever for players, from veterans to new recruits, to familiarize themselves with game’s basics and discover useful tips. There is also the addition of a smaller game client, which lets players roll out in a more streamlined version of World of Tanks.

Get ready for giant naval battles on the high seas on September 17

Wargaming today announced World of Warships will officially launch on September 17. After dominating new ground with World of Tanks, and conquering the skies with World of Warplanes, World of Warships arrives, bringing thrilling naval warfare to players everywhere. The highly anticipated game of strategic naval combat will set sail with four classes of ships, a vast selection of historic vessels and endless strategic approaches to winning the fight for the high seas.

“Based on our Open Beta success with World of Warships, Wargaming is poised to launch our next big game,” stated Fred Menou, Head of Global Publishing, Wargaming. “With 2 million participants and the average player spending 3 hours a day in game we have an armada of sea captains ready to take the helm of the ultimate naval combat game.”

On September 17th, players will have four distinct classes of warships to command, featuring some of history’s most iconic vessels including legendary battleship Yamato and aircraft carrier Midway. Two full Tech Trees from the U.S. and Japan are available at launch, and several vessels from the U.K, Germany, and the U.S.S.R, including Warspite, Tirpitz, and Aurora also enter the fight. In total, there are currently over 80 historical vessels available, with more nations on their way this year.

Developer Diary #8 takes you straight to the heart of the World of Warships experience: its game engine. This complex beast consists of the game client itself, along with the server engine, both of which work in harmony to create an unparalleled gaming experience.

Viewers will learn how the game client and server client interact, process sound, graphics, and how they function with gaming peripherals. Discover how the BigWorld engine runs through the core of World of Warships and the ways the team implement this technology to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Another important element in World of Warships is how the highly-detailed graphics interact with the game client. Epic visuals like massively intricate vessels, realistic oceans and beautifully rendered environments require a team of pros to get the most of a player’s hardware which, naturally, comes with its own set of challenges. Obsidian Entertainment and Paradox Interactive has released the first of a two-part expansion to Pillars of Eternity, the role-playing game (RPG) phenomenon funded by over 70 thousand backers. The award-winning recipient for the Best Indy RPG at E3 2015 from MMORPG.com, “The White March: Part I” is the first addition to the critically acclaimed game, and includes an extensive array of new dynamic content for both Pillars of Eternity veterans and newcomers. White March expands the story and experience of the original game, adding new locations, quests, and companions to the world of Eora, as well as new gameplay features such as multi-class abilities, soulbound weapons, and a higher level cap, allowing players new ways to play in all areas of the game. In The White March: Part I, Obsidian Entertainment continues the tale of Pillars of Eternity, an RPG inspired by classics of the computer RPG genre. Featuring an expertly crafted story from Carrie Patel, author of the Recoletta series and writer on the original Pillars of Eternity, and Eric Fenstermaker, lead writer on Pillars of Eternity and one of the co-writers of South Park: The Stick of Truth alongside show creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the new expansion has new lore and challenges to explore. Set during the middle of the original game similar to the classic Tales of the Sword Coast, the new expansion can be experienced regardless if players have completed the core game or not. Wargaming is excited to announce that the revamped Global Map is now live in Europe, North America, Asia and Korea . A total reimagining of the previous Global Map, it introduces highly-anticipated Clan Wars integration, a completely revamped interface, and a hugely expanded map .

Strongholds and Global Map have been combined, allowing players to earn a new form of currency: Influence. Influence is earned when battling for provinces and in Skirmishes, which can then be used to bid on locations, giving Clans a chance to claim any area across the map. This new in-game currency can also be invested into these regions, raising its Province Income, as well as purchase Divisions, autonomous units. Divisions are a fully equipped battle unit with necessary number of tanks that does not depend on the number of members in the Clan.

Further good news for Clans is the ability to reap more Province Income via upgrading their ELO rating. With the new Global Map, the combined revenue of all provinces can be up to three times as much as before, and at max level, the new Global Map will being producing 10 million Gold daily.

A revamped UI and in-game tutorial, refined by the players, makes it even easier to jump into the battle. With the addition of flexible settings to vehicle tier, type and nation, players no longer just require Tier 10 vehicles; now Tiers 6, 8 and 10 are all available. Combined with a newly implemented seasonal model, events this year will earn players great rewards.

“The passion and growth of veteran Clan Wars players has shown us that we needed to create a bigger and better Global Map experience,” said Natallia Pershyts, Product Manager of Clan Wars. “The new Global Map has opened the door for a huge Clan Wars audience.
