Latest entry in the critically-acclaimed series takes open world freedom to new heights

Square Enix and Avalanche Studios today unveiled Just Cause 3, a vast open-world action adventure, and the latest instalment in the much-loved Just Cause series. Just Cause 3 will be available in 2015 for PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and Windows PC.

“We’ve been waiting for this moment ever since Just Cause 2 was released,” said Christofer Sundberg, founder and Chief Creative Officer at Avalanche Studios. “This is the culmination of a decade’s worth of open-world evolution and innovation. In Just Cause 3, we’ve sent Rico to a beautiful Mediterranean archipelago. He is of course bringing his Grapple and Parachute, both with game-changing upgrades, as well as the brand new Wingsuit. Just Cause 3 truly represents the next generation of chaotic sandbox fun, and we can’t wait to show you more next year.”

Today, we’re giving our attention to a reasonably priced gaming keyboard from Thermaltake’s gaming division. The Tt eSPORTS Challenger Prime costs $29.99 plus $1.99 shipping at Newegg, but packs features normally expected from more expensive gaming keyboards including tri-color backlighting, dedicated macro keys, and dedicated media keys. Already, the Challenger Prime is looking like the keyboard to beat at this price.

Past experience with Mad Catz products tells us that they are happy to step away from the norm when it comes to product design. The S.T.R.I.K.E. keyboards for example are pretty unique in their design. And of course the R.A.T. mice with movable parts isn’t a design you see every day. There are many ways to do something different in the motherboard space, especially with respect to functionality and design. In terms of the design element, we have seen many motherboards recently go for a black and red theme, but in the past we had yellow, pink, and all sorts of interesting combinations. Upon popular request, ASUS is releasing the ASUS Z97 Mark S, an arctic camouflage special edition version of the TUF Z97 Sabertooth Mark 1. We were lucky to get motherboard number #0001 for review.

In what is NVIDIA’s third Game Ready driver release in the past three months, the new GeForce 344.65 WHQL is launched specifically for the week’s hottest game release, Assassin’s Creed Unity. The driver comes with optimizations for the game, its SLI profile, and optimal settings for GeForce Experience. The driver also tags along improvements to the optimizations of the past two “Game Ready” releases, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and Civilization: Beyond Earth.

Ubisoft has released the Assassin’s Creed: Unity launch trailer. Primarily set during the French Revolution, the series’ first new-gen outing sees players embark on a quest for redemption in the violent and anarchic 18th century Paris. For a more detailed overview of the game’s key features, check out this seven minute Assassin’s Creed: Unity 101 trailer.

The Assassin’s Creed: Unity release date is November 11 in North America, November 13 in Europe and November 14 in the UK. The game will be available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Developer promises more free updates, with extra features and content currently in development

Firefly Studios has released a new update (1.0.19574) for Stronghold Crusader 2, the recently released ‘castle sim’ sequel. The update, which is now live on Steam, introduces a new skirmish map, unit stats, map balancing and bug fixes. Click here for full changelist.

In a new blog post on the official Stronghold Crusader 2 website, Firefly revealed that the majority of post-release content for the game will be made available for free. “We really are just getting started and, after we have finished working on fixes and optimisation, the team will be adding more features and content. Extra AI characters will come in the form of paid-for DLC, but the majority of this post-release content will be free and automatically downloaded through Steam.”

Stronghold Crusader 2 is out now on Steam.

For the very first time in the Company of Heroes franchise, players will be able to choose between three different Companies, all with their own unique abilities, to forge their path to glory. Customers who pre-order will gain access to a fourth company; “Fox” Company, led by Captain Monte Durante.

This video details some of the many exciting new options that Fox Company will bring to the game including, their devastating M83 Cluster Bombs, Pinpoint Accurate Artillery and their main weapon, the Fox Company Elite Infantry who will do whatever it takes to get the job done.
