rising-storm2-vietnam-logoNew Trailer Shows off Helicopters, Highlights Asymmetrical Gameplay for Vietnam War Shooter

Tripwire Interactive has released a brand new trailer highlighting the air power that United States Armed Forces will have at their disposal in their upcoming tactical FPS, Rising Storm 2: Vietnam. The sequel to the smash hit Rising Storm, PC Gamer’s 2013 ‘Multiplayer Game of the Year’, Rising Storm 2: Vietnam will be published by Tripwire Interactive, and is currently being developed by Antimatter Games, the same team that created the award-winning innovative asymmetric gameplay of the original Rising Storm.

Today’s brand new trailer features three helicopters which can be piloted by players during matches in action. The all-purpose and iconic UH-1H Iroquois, nicknamed the “Huey”, functions as both a transport, carrying up to 6 passengers around the battlefield, or a mobile spawn point for U.S. Armed Forces, bringing with it two M60 door guns to provide cover for teammates below. Battlefield tacticians will likely favor the OH-6 Cayuse, nicknamed the “Loach”, for its ability to quick recon the map and the ability to use commander abilities from the cockpit. The final helicopter, the AH-1G, nicknamed the “Cobra”, brings down the heavens with its arsenal of weapons, including two FFAR rocket pods, a 20mm M195 auto-cannon, a 40mm grenade launcher, and a front-mounted minigun.

To celebrate the new trailer release, all of the previously released games in the Red Orchestra/Rising Storm series are currently 75% off on Steam. The sale ends on Monday September 5th at 10AM PST / 1PM EST. Click here for more information.

Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is currently under development by Antimatter Games and will be published by Tripwire Interactive for PC and is slated for release in early 2017. This title has not yet been rated by the ESRB, but Tripwire Interactive anticipates a rating of “M” for Mature.

Update 0.17 Introduces a New Competitive Map “Frontline” and Continues to Make Changes From Community Feedback

Obsidian Entertainment and global publisher My.com are proud to announce the newest addition to Armored Warfare. Update 0.17 focuses on several quality of life improvements to continue the trend of addressing community requested enhancements. New features include the new VBR wheeled Armored Fighting Vehicle, the new co-op PvE challenge “Leviathan,” and the large and open PvP map, “Frontline”.

Watch the Armored Warfare – Frontline Map Trailer HERE.

Update 0.17 features include:

  • Due to its size and natural openness, there are almost no natural routes for the players to take and tactics depend almost entirely on each team, as the terrain no longer dictates the vehicle deployment. The flow of battle is less predictable than on some of the other Armored Warfare maps and the players need to be constantly vigilant for the shifting tides of war.
  • A brand new challenge for the co-operative PvE mode of Armored Warfare. The newly-finished Aurora satellite sits on a remote island in the Pacific, having received the final touches that will facilitate its maiden flight. When adversarial forces threaten to destroy Aurora and its component parts, players must protect the satellite and defend the island’s facilities, stopping the enemies from capturing the Aurora and destroying it.
  • The VBR Tier 8 AFV and the AMX 10 RCR Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer
  • We have continued to improve and optimized Armored Warfare’s weapon firing model in many aspects, with the goal of making it easier for players to hit targets more consistently while firing on the move.
  • Before spawning an AI vehicle, this new system will check to see if it has Line of Sight and is within close radius to players in an attempt to find a location that is not directly on top of players. This should greatly reduce the cases in which AI vehicles spawn in-sight of and around players.

AMD late Wednesday released the Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.8.3 drivers. The drivers come with optimization, including CrossFire support, for the week’s biggest game releases, “Battlefield 1″ Open Beta, and “Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.” The drivers address a rare bug noticed on machines with AMD “Polaris” GPUs, in which a blank or colored screen is noticed intermittently when gaming.
