Free expansion introduces Latvia
The latest free expansion for Tannenberg introduces the Latvian Riflemen, a marshy Baltic map, and new weapons for Russian and German forces – including special grenades which will allow players to deploy smoke and gas without waiting for an artillery barrage for the first time in the WW1 Game Series.

In 1915, as the Germans advanced into Latvian territory, the Russian Tsar gave his approval for the creation of Latvian Riflemen units. Despite Russian efforts, there was still a strong nationalist streak in the Latvian people, and Latvian politicians argued that all-Latvian formations would fight hard to push back the Germans. They were proved right – due to the high number of volunteers, three battalions were formed rather than two as had been originally planned.

Meet the Latvian Riflemen
In Tannenberg, the Latvian Riflemen are a support squad equipped primarily with Japanese import rifles and older Winchesters. They are renowned for their composure under fire, and their NCO ability can remove weapon sway at key moments in battle, allowing perfect shots by skilled marksmen. For trench assaults they carry plenty of grenades and a few squad members carry the iconic US M1911 pistol.
Several weapons have been added to the game – Latvian troops will be able to use the newly added Japanese Arisaka Type 38 and Colt 1911 pistol, while Russian squads get the Vetterli M1870/87 and chemical gas grenades. German troops gain access to the Type N Nebelbombe smoke grenade. These last two special gas grenades are a first for the WW1 Game Series, and will give players new tactical options for attack and defense.

Brave the new Baltic map
Arriving along with the Latvian Riflemen is a new map set in their home region! The Baltic map features distinctive wooden fortifications built on and around the lakes and swamps. Lead assaults across pontoon bridges, or scramble for cover amidst the sand dunes and pine forests surrounding the marshes. The variety in terrain will challenge even the most seasoned Tannenberg players!

Lead Developer Jos Hoebe said: ‘Creating a map for the Baltic regions was especially interesting due to the swampy terrain, which isn’t something we’ve represented in the WW1 Game Series so far – the Flanders map in our earlier game Verdun probably comes closest. Combining the different landscapes found in the Baltic region into a single map was challenging, but we’re very happy with the result, bringing a novel battlefield to the game.

evga-geforce-rtx-2080-super-ftw3-hybridBy Sebastian Peak @ PC Perspective

It seems like just yesterday that we were taking our first look at RTX 2080 SUPER performance with the NVIDIA Founders Edition card, and today we have our first look at an aftermarket version featuring higher clocks. And this isn’t just any aftermarket card, it’s an EVGA FTW3 card complete with hybrid liquid/air cooling.

The EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FTW3 HYBRID GAMING not only has more capital letters in its name than most of the RTX 2080 SUPER cards you’ll encounter, but it also has more attached AiO liquid coolers. This design should equate to lower temps, but will it add additional overclocking headroom? And for that matter, is there any additional overclocking headroom with the RTX 2080 SUPER?

We will attempt to answer one or both questions in this review.

Bethesda releases the PC version of Wolfenstein: Youngblood on Thursday, one day earlier than planned. However, it will be lacking RTX support with its initial release. Something NVIDIA advertised massively with. Raytracing is to be added later with a patch.

You can expect the game for PC this Thursday Bethesda mentions on Twitter. Wolfenstein makes use of the Vulkan API and would be the first game with that API to get RTX support.

All right, Agents, who’s ready for a field trip? Starting today for Year 1 Pass holders and July 30 for all players, Episode 1 – DC Outskirts: Expeditions introduces a host of free new adventures that take Agents outside of Washington, DC. Two new main missions let you pursue the modern-day Benedict Arnold, President Andrew Ellis, at Camp White Oak, and hunt the ruthless Outcast leader Emeline Shaw at the Manning National Zoo. A new mode, Expeditions, takes players to Kenly College on an episodic series of missions. A new wing of the college unlocks once a week; complete all three wings to earn valuable loot. And speaking of loot, a new exotic rifle, exotic gloves, and two new weapons (Stoner LMG and Carbine 7) can be found within Episode 1′s content. There are also two Classified Assignments — accessible to Year 1 Pass holders only — that take place in Washington’s Central Aquarium and NSA Site B13.

In addition to Episode 1, today’s free update also includes a new difficulty setting for the Operation Dark Hours raid. Discovery difficulty will allow Agents to matchmake with other players, if they so choose, and take on a more forgiving version of The Division 2′s first eight-player raid. Complete the raid on Discovery difficulty to earn hefty rewards, then give it a go on Normal difficulty for the chance to earn exotic loot.

There have also been major changes to the skill system (check out our State of the Game recap for more details) that create new opportunities for powerful skill-focused builds. And the crafting table can now create gear up to the maximum Gear Score, giving players more flexibility to craft their optimum loadout.

NVIDIA today launched the GeForce RTX 2080 Super graphics card, priced at USD $699. The card replaces the RTX 2080 from this price-point, which will be sold at discounted prices of around $630, while stocks last. The RTX 2080 Super is based on the same 12 nm “TU104″ silicon as the original, but is bolstered on three fronts: first, it maxes out the “TU104″ by enabling all 3,072 CUDA cores. Second, it comes with increased GPU Boost frequency of 1815 MHz, compared to 1710 MHz of the original; and lastly it comes with the highest-clocked 15.5 Gbps GDDR6 memory solution.

The card ships with 8 GB of memory across a 256-bit wide memory bus, which at 15.5 Gbps works out to roughly 496 GB/s of memory bandwidth, a 11 percent increase over the original RTX 2080. Other specifications of the GeForce RTX 2080 Super include 192 TMUs, 64 ROPs, 48 RT cores, and 384 Tensor cores. NVIDIA is allowing its board partners to launch custom-design boards that start at the same $699 baseline.
