Comanche’s second Early Access update is now live and brings some new content, including a full new single-player mission, plus addressing popular requests from the community.

In the singleplayer mission, the player is tasked with a covert operation to dismantle the plans of Kude Core, the antagonist faction, deep within enemy territory. To achieve this he will be operating the Ghost Comanche to avoid detection and needs to pick his fights well to succeed.

The Fly Everything Event for Digital Combat Simulator World mentioned on Friday is now underway. This offers the chance to test fly all the aircraft in Eagle Dynamics’ integrated flight sim roster for the next month along with the chance to buy them for half-off and support charity at the same time. Comanche’s first Early Access update is now live and already incorporates valuable feedback from the community.

• Extended Graphic Options
• Rework of some of the Controls (especially Gamepad)

In addition to above mentioned community-centered implementations, the update also contains numerous balancing changes (single- and multiplayer oriented), as well as general bugfixes.

Singleplayer

As requested by the community, Comanche will get a singleplayer campaign. Starting with one mission available from March 12th on, developer Nukklear will add new missions on a regular basis.

Multiplayer

The 4vs4 team-based multiplayer will start with two modes, one called Black Box, the other Infiltration. In Black Box, the goal is to collect more black boxes from destroyed Comanches with your drone. You can collect both enemy and friendly black boxes using the drone, so this mode guarantees intense team fights at close range. Infiltration again combines helicopter combat and drone piloting: your objective is to either defend or infiltrate a base. Attackers must place an EMP, defenders must disarm it.

Flight & Combat Training

In a variety of different missions, you can learn how to fly your Comanche and its drone to familiarise yourself with the flight controls and how to maneuver in combat. As Comanche requires some practice before you become a good pilot, we highly recommend players check out the training missions.

Available Helicopters & Drones

Five Comanches and four drones will be available at the Early Access launch, all coming with specific weapons, abilities and strengths and weaknesses. Each type of Comanche has a certain role to fulfill in the team-based combat and is suitable for a special type of player, so choose your favorite.

What’s in the Early Access Version now?

Heads up, pilots - Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown’s DLC mission #5, “Anchorhead Raid,” has landed on American shores! The Erusean Army has amassed an entire fleet of naval forces in Anchorhead Bay and the LRSSG needs your aerial combat prowess to spearhead an aerial ambush. Your skills and judgment as a pilot will be put to the test as you strategically assault enemy forces and their supply lines. You are the critical factor in turning the tides of this war!

Much like the Spanish Inquisition, nobody expects an unexpected visitor, but despite that the Unexpected Visitor DLC is now available on Steam for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. This brings new planes, weapons, and missions to the aerial combat game, and this new trailer offers a look. Here’s word on the add-on, which is included with the season pass:

The 4th add-on included in the season pass for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. This add-on allows you to play the new mission “Unexpected Visitor.”

A giant Erusean submarine has been discovered in harbor at Artiglio Port. This submarine launched four years ago, but went missing during a sea trial. It was found two years later at the bottom of the ocean. Much of its crew survived and were rescued.

According to David North, an analyst from the Osean Intelligence Agency’s Advanced Weapons Analysis Division, this submarine is a super-sized nuclear submarine measuring 495 meters in length and powered by two liquid metal cooled reactors. Dubbed the “Alicorn,” it is capable of staging aircraft operations on the scale of a carrier.

The objective of this operation is to capture the Alicorn. To do so, the Osean Navy has dispatched a fleet complete with a landing ship.

“Our mission is to secure air superiority and protect this assault-and-capture task force.”

Ace Combat wouldn’t be Ace Combat if it didn’t feature over-the-top missions & bosses and the next batch of heart-pounding missions that are on the way will be packed with explosive action. The missions will feature a myriad of mission types and enemies, including the appearance of a submersible aircraft carrier that’s sure to wreak havoc in the skies of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. The next Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown DLC mission, “Unexpected Visitor” is coming to the Americas on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PCs via STEAM on September 25, 2019.

Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for the Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown‘s fourth Season Pass downloadable content, “Unexpected Visitor.”

While the first three add-ons for the Season Pass have already been released and consist of additional aircraft, the three add-ons that have yet to be released are story-based mission downloadable content.

Critical security breach reported. Loss of classified military documents confirmed: The Blueprints for the advanced reconnaissance and attack helicopter RAH-66 Comanche have been leaked. The activity of a whistleblower is most likely. As a reaction, SACEUR has authorized THQ Nordic and Nukklear to continue with the production of “Comanche” as fast as possible to counter any possible threat and to start an “Early Access” program in early 2020.

Wait … the Comanche program is back, although it has been canceled after the rise of modern UAVs? Yep, that’s the background story for the new take on Comanche, that THQ Nordic and developer Nukklear have announced today. After the Iran-US RQ170 incident from December 2011, in which a UAV was hacked and captured through cyberwarfare, the “RAH-66 Comanche” was brought back to life, and received a new role. Next to reconnaissance and air-to-ground combat, the new Comanche also acts as a carrier of a specialized, non-hackable short-range drone, that is designed to operate in high-risk environments. A new era of helicopter warfare is about to begin …

With this setting, the new game – simply called Comanche again and based on the legendary gaming franchise from Novalagic – is set to take off 2020. Comanche will begin its early access campaign and lift off as a modern, team-based online multiplayer helicopter shooter. But that’s not the only new twist. Besides your Comanche, you will also control a small, armed drone for close-quarters combat and special duties. Each Comanche/drone setup will have its own strengths and weaknesses and fulfill an important role in the objective-based team-vs-team encounters.
