JETFIGHTER III

FEATURE SUMMARY

SCENERY:

  • Over 3.5 million square miles (more than 300 Meg!) of real-world terrain compiled from numerous government databases.
  • Thousands of objects directly integrated into the scenery.
  • Even power lines are placed based on geographical surveys. You can follow them from city to city, power station to station.
  • Scores of ground targets and objects to attack.
  • Airports accurately placed and modeled. Takeoff and land at airports that exist in the real world. Airports feature complete lighting systems including VASI (Visual Approach Slope Indicator) lights.
  • Explore real towns, cities, and metropolitan centers complete with buildings and skyscrapers.
  • Stunning scenery. No two areas are the same. Featuring different distinctive types: Plains, Snow, Hills, Ice-capped mountains, Islands, Forest, Swamp, Rivers, Coasts, Farms, Desert, Valleys, Grassland.

COMBAT AND ACTION:

  • Over 90 intense missions with detailed briefings and debriefings.
  • Missions take place in a dynamic world-at-war with combat air patrols and strike fighter wings carrying on battles all around the region.
  • Fly the F-22N Lightning II and the F/A-18 Hornet. You choose which aircraft is best for the job.
  • Full arsenal of weapons including: Sidewinders, AMRAAMs, Mk82 bombs, Mk84 bombs, Maverick missiles, and the Vulcan cannon.
  • Intelligent enemy AI for incredible dogfights and challenging missions. Enemy pilots use team tactics, countermeasures, evasive maneuvers, advanced offensive attack schemes. Wait until you experience the heartbreak of watching an enemy aircraft spoof your last missile with a chaff cartridge! Time to switch to guns!
  • Stage attacks on moving surface ships. But be careful, they can defend themselves with deadly AAA and treacherous SAMs.
  • Jump in and start flying right away. No formal flight training or in-depth study is necessary. JetFighter III is easy to learn, but hard to master.
  • Active wingman carries out your commands. Send him to take out a SAM site while you attack the target.
  • Watch friendly forces defend themselves using AAA and SAMs.
  • Stay low to the ground to avoid flak bursts. The concussions will rock your aircraft and can damage your flight controls.

GRAPHICS:

  • Sophisticated rendering system provides an intense feeling of speed with no warping textures.
  • Dynamic time-of-day effects. The darkened sky slowly lightens to blue in the morning and brightens at noon. Dusk draws the curtain of night over the world.
  • Watch the sun and moon rise and set in the sky. At night, stars fill the darkened sky.
  • Transparent clouds with several different types simulate clear, cloudy and overcast conditions.
  • Fire, smoke haze and other visual effects.
  • Fly over cities at night. Check out the skyscraper and building windows with their lights on.
  • AAA tracer fire snakes its way up to your aircraft.
  • Realistic translucent missile trails.
  • 3DNA Sequencing[S1](. New graphics programming technology based on natural variability, Dynamic Nexus Architecture allows us to interlink realistic elements to accurately model diverse scenery. This technique uses fractal prediction to enhance the texture art resolution and provide a remarkably clear image without the warping found in other simulations.
  • TEXTUREAL(. Special effects technology that uses image-specific data to effectively and efficiently match-edge textures without loss of detail or mirrored pattern effects.
  • MIP-mapping to better handle the naturally occurring aliasing found in 3D simulations.
  • Real-time light-source shading.
  • Distant haze effects.
  • Both the F-22N Lightning II and the F/A-18 Hornet have moving control surfaces. Switch to the external view to check out the ailerons, rudders, flaps, weapons bays and speedbrake.
  • Four resolution levels: 320x200, 640x350, 640x400, 640x480.
  • Three screen sizes: 100% full screen, 80% letterboxed, 60% letterboxed.

A MULTITUDE OF VIEWS:

  • The easiest, most intuitive viewing system in any simulator.
  • Super-smooth virtual cockpit allows you to 'look' wherever you point the joystick.
  • Smooth panning external views let you check out the custom decal you just put on the tail of your F-22N.
  • Wingman view allows you to track your wingman's actions. Watch him launch his Mavericks at a target, or dispense flares to spoof an incoming IR missile.
  • Use Missile view to track the flight of your weapons. Watch your Mavericks weave their way to the target.
  • Tactical view keeps your current target in sight at all times, from interior or exterior perspectives.
  • Use the fly-by view to see just how expansive the JetFighter scenery is!
  • 10 external cameras positioned around the aircraft carrier provide awesome views of cat launches and traps.
  • From the Cat Officer view you can watch the Jet Blast Deflectors lower after an F-18 makes a full afterburner cat launch.
  • If you can land your aircraft and catch the 3-wire while using LSO view, you deserve a medal!
  • Don't forget to use the view controls after you have ejected!
  • You can even program your favorite external view angles and recall them later.

CARRIER OPERATIONS:

  • The carrier actually pitches and rolls as it moves across the sea.
  • Cinematic interface allows you to explore your carrier environment.
  • Realistic carrier takeoffs and landings.
  • Career Pilot Statistics. Keep track of your performance throughout the life of your game.
  • Meticulously modeled carrier including jet blast deflectors.
  • Complete mission-by-mission statistics compiled in your Debriefing.
  • Medals. Earn decorations for your skill and bravery as you progress through your fighter pilot career.
  • Personal terminal in your Cabin keeps you in-touch with your in-game persona with: Email, Daily shipboard activity, Career pilot statistics, Campaign information.
  • Authentic ILS/CLS (Landing Systems) to aid in carrier and runway landings.
  • Visit the ship's library and explore the Multimedia Encyclopedia featuring over 500 pages of photographs, drawings and expert commentary.
  • On the hangar deck you can even paint a custom tail insignia for your air wing.

SOUND:

  • Wingman voices and computer cockpit voice.
  • Thundering sound effects such as explosions, engine, weapon launches, and many more.
  • Individually controllable volume levels for a high degree of customization.
  • Supports every major sound board.

AND YES… THERE'S MORE:

  • Fire the cannon into the ground and check out the bullets' impacts.
  • Import your own photograph graphic file to customize your pilot roster.
  • Realistic flight dynamics capture that true feeling of flight with modeling computations that include adjustable speed ratios at various altitudes.
  • Comprehensive yet easy-to-read manual.
  • F-22N Lightning II design based upon Lockheed specifications for the proposed carrier-based Advanced Tactical Fighter featuring: Vectored thrust, Supercruise, and ordnance stored in internal Weapons bays that open and close.
  • Flaps allow you to stay airborne at slower speeds to help during landings.
  • Accurately modeled instrument panels on both the F-22N and F/A-18 with authentic MFDs: Offensive MFD, Horizontal Situation MFD, Defensive MFD, Systems MFD.
  • Support for the CH Force F/X force feedback joystick.
  • Compatible with Windows95 in DOS mode.
  • Interactive campaign structure with several winning and losing paths emerge from engaging branching storyline.
