8. What online services does Jane's offer to customers?

Jane's offer different types of online services, primarily is our internet access service at www.janesonline.com which is a subscription based service that allows search and retrieval from Jane's complete portfolio of products. Subscribers can access information from anywhere in the world using a unique login and password. The other service we offer is for corporations who require very high levels of security, we can deliver data directly on to their intranet site which can be integrated amongst their chosen data sources.

We also have several dedicated sites for Jane's magazines and newsletters which are internet based and accessible via login and password. These reflect more of the style and design of the hardcopy magazine, whereas the two services above are much more oriented towards data and research.

9. What kind of information can I find on the Jane's web site?

www.janes.com is where you can find articles from Jane's magazines, newsletters and publications. These often cover new developments as well as exclusive news. Also Jane's are often asked to provide analysis on events occurring around the world so often information, data and comment will reflect current world news. Jane's editorial covers information on defence, aerospace, defence industry, air and land transportation, geopolitics, law enforcement, global security and risk assessment. Note: www.janes.com will be relaunched with a new design in early May which have an even stronger news focus.


10. Are there any free information Jane's web site sections open to the general public?

All the information you will see on www.janes.com is free and open to whoever wishes to find it. Attached to the site are subscription services, but these are specific sites. Anything found within www.janes.com is freely available.

11. What direction will Jane's take into the 21st century?

Jane's mission is to provide timely, accurate and authoritative flows of data, analysis and integrate these flows within its customers' working practices to meet their operational and commercial requirements. Jane's believes that by 2005 more than half of its business will be based on its electronic services.
