The Core 2 Quad Q9300 processor is poised to take over as the poster child of inexpensive and overclockable CPUs for many enthusiasts. It runs at ~2.5GHz, 333MHz at a 7.5 multiplier, and a total of 6MB of L2 cache, 3MB per core, which you can compare to the Q6600 at 2.4GHz with a pair of 4MB L2 caches. The price stays exactly the same, $266. The heat remains the same for these two processors as well, and considering that a 333MHz bus is the first step to overclocking the Q6600, and the Q9300 runs 333MHz at stock, you can see there is more room to push this chip faster.
