"It's Far Cry Patch Day!" declares the Crytek Modding Portal, where they offer downloads of Far Cry Patch 4, bringing Crytek's first person shooter to version 1.4, with the choice of a patch for version 1.33 or a patch to update any prior version (Thx:Blue's).

The accompanying update includes word that this impacts multiplayer play only, that the ability to use HDR and Anti-Aliasing simultaneously on ATI accelerators that was present in a leaked version of this patch has been removed in the release version, and that a Linux dedicated server as well as Linux and Windows standalone server packages are due in a couple of weeks. Also, in news to melt the hearts of many penguins: "Despite the rumors, this patch will be available for Windows 32-bit version only." The patches include rebalanced versions of the six assault maps (the originals will still be available after patching), security fixes, a variety of changes to multiplayer play, as well as bug fixes.
