We go hands-on with a beta build of the upcoming stand alone version of the UT 2004 mod.

It's a dream that few mod teams have achieved but Tripwire Interactive, the team behind the popular Unreal Tournament 2004 Red Orchestra, achieved their dream by turning into a full fledged professional game developer. They managed this feat thanks in part to their excellent WWII shooter mod and also in part to the team winning Epic's Make Something Unreal mod contest with not only a cash prize but access to the full Unreal Engine to make their own stand alone game. Now Tripwire is close to releasing their first professional product, a stand alone version of their mod titled Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 and Gamecloud got a chance to play the multiplayer beta of the game for ourselves.
