Corsair Issues Warning of Possible H100 Fan Controller Issues

When we start fielding emails and forum messages about Corsair’s H100 mysteriously disappearing from store shelves, red flags were raised. The first signs that something is wrong usually comes from customers screaming bloody murder but we hadn’t seen anything to point towards there being any far reaching issues with this high end water cooling unit. Even our review unit has been running like a champ. So what gives?

After further research, it seems like a limited number of the H100 units have a small issue where pushing the fan profile button on the unit doesn’t actually change the rotational speed of the fans. Basically, the included fans will stay at their default speed regardless of the profile being used.

All of the affected units come from batch #11359403 and so far, no other batches seem to be affected. Corsair caught this issue before most of the units in the retail channel made it into consumers’ hands and has recalled the affected. This explains why some retailers pulled the H100 from their shelves.

So what happens if you have one of the affected H100′s? Corsair has some very clear directions on their website which we suggest you follow.
