Have you ever started playing one of today's "advanced" games and thought, "this feels too much like work?" Long load times, complex setup screens, overly elaborate gameplay ... you know the deal. If you're looking for a more casual game you can leap in and out of, Down in Flames may be for you. It's based on a popular tabletop card game by Dan Verssen, creator of the award-winning Modern Naval Battles, and it's old-school in the best sense of good, quick fun that puts a premium on gameplay over empty flash. But beware: while you can play a complete WWII dogfight in 10 minutes, Down in Flames is wickedly addictive, and you might find a couple hours have passed before you know it.
