Serious The Saboteur-ATI Crash Issue Being Investigated, Workaround Offered

Pandemic's swansong has done nothing for their reputation with PC gamers, featuring a particularly nasty freezing issue that affects most ATI users when opening menus and the quest journal, and transitioning between areas. Some ATI gamers are able to play using Windows XP, but even then there are often problems.
Pandemic's relocated skeleton crew is investigating the problems in conjunction with ATI, and in the interim offers this intermittently-working workaround.
Unfortunately, the game's poor coding resulted in the recommend system requirements suggesting the use of a 2.8GHz Quad Core CPU, and as such The Saboteur runs abysmally when you disable three of the CPU's four cores, making the 'workaround' beyond useless.
