By Stuart Davidson @ DriverHeaven

Take a walk round Cebit in Germany and there are halls dedicated to cases in all shapes, colours and materials. Due to this it can be difficult know what products are good and which are cheap rubbish, especially when looking at a manufacturer whose products you have no experience with. In these situations we need to look a little closer for aspects which could give us confidence before purchasing. In the case of LanCool we have an outfit who sell cases designed and manufactured by Lian-Li, a company who are renowned for their quality chassis. The main difference between the two is that the Lian-Li range is aimed at the high end of the market where as the LanCool brand is more mainstream.

Today we have one of LanCools latest cases on our test bench, the PC-K62 which is manufactured in Taiwan and part of the Dragon Lord family.

Not only do you get a great overview of the tools needed to do mods like this and a look at a beautiful modding job, there is a bonus. The case being modded is the yet to be released "NZXT Panzerbox", a name very apropos to the mods theme. Either as a voyeur, as someone planning on getting into modding at some point or as a master of the art, you really should see this case.

"Bill has received a pre-production NZXT Panzerbox case. His is going to be handling the modding of the case. NZXT was really cool in allowing him to get his hands on this before it is even in stores. This will be the "first EVER modded NZXT Panzerbox". The case is going to be modded in tribute to Wolfenstein since we both have fond memories of playing these games."

Review: Antec Mini-P180 Advanced Mini Tower

Posted by Donster on: 2009-05-08 15:18:54 in category: General System Component News [ Print ]

By Robert Maloney @ HotHardware

Finding the right chassis for a system build is like setting up the foundation before building out the design of your computer and working your craftsmanship into the intricate details of component selection and configuration. Start with a good foundation that caters to your build requirements and you're bound to have a better overall end result when you hit the power switch to boot up for the first time. And though the average enthusiast might choose a larger full tower case with real estate to spare, for many, there is also beauty in smaller, more space-efficient designs. We've covered our share of monster "gaming cases" here at HotHardware but we felt it was high time to look at something a bit more diminutive.

Thus, we reached out to Antec to provide us with their smaller-sized version of their P180, titled not surprisingly, the Mini-P180. The Performance One series of cases has met with many favorable reviews, and combined with our own experience with their gaming cases, the Three Hundred and Nine Hundred, we figured that Antec could come through again

For us let’s have a look at this case and review some changes being made to the late April retail release of the Panzerbox and perhaps make a suggestion or two ourselves.
