The World War II setting and the real-time strategy genre are each incredibly common on the PC. Consequently, games that combines these two concepts together are fairly common. So what's to separate a new entry from the rest of the crowd? That's the question confronting developers today. For some, it's all about presentation, making the game as visually exciting as possible, even if it means taking a few artistic liberties. For others, accuracy is more important. Though "fun" is still the point, it's about finding the fun through a meticulous attention to details.

This second approach is the one taken by Nival Interactive in their upcoming strategy game, Blitzkrieg II. As part of the long legacy or purely tactical games, including such notables as Close Combat and Sudden Strike, Blitzkrieg II is all about fighting. Players who are yearning to manage economies and send peasants off to work in oil fields will have to find their satisfaction elsewhere. Blitzkrieg II merely puts a huge army at your disposal and lets you use them to accomplish whatever objective might be in front of you at the moment.
