Devs outline the items they will and won't be balancing.

Balancing requests are among the most frequent DICE receives from Battlefield 4 players, and the developers have already tweaked a number of weapons and vehicles in response. Today on the Battlefield Blog, though, the devs are highlighting the items they believe are "working as designed."

For now, at least. DICE says it welcomes further "suggestions and comments," but doesn't believe some hot-button items currently need balancing.

Most notably among the balancing items DICE is monitoring:

  • TV Missiles - Players have requested they become a one-hit kill on enemy aircraft. DICE disagrees.

  • Sniper Rifles - Players have requested these be upgraded to penetrate body armor at close range. DICE says body armor is designed to specifically counter those threats.

  • Long-range Scopes for DMRs - Players want them, but DICE says they would have a negative impact on gameplay.

  • Aircraft Counter Measures - Players have asked the reload for counter measures to be increased. DICE says it's a "tricky balance," but it likes the current reload times.

  • Attack Helicopter Maneuverability - Players would like increased maneuverability, but DICE says it recently tweaked attack copter weapons, and it wants to see if that solves the complaints first.

As to the items that are being balanced, pistols and grenades are getting a number of tweaks that players should see in-game "soon."
