New Screens: Lock On
We have 6 new screens from Ubi Soft's upcoming jet simulation, Lock On: Modern Air Combat. Lock On combines a broad scope of game play that includes a dynamic battle generator, an immersive combat environment, and in-your-face action. Choose from eight U.S. and Russian jets that range from the tank-killing A-10 Warthog and, ground-pounding Su-25 Frogfoot to air superiority fighters like the F-15C Eagle and Su-27 Flanker. Filled with intense campaigns, realistic flight modeling and flexible game options, Lock On will provide unlimited game play action to both novice and veteran flight sim fans. Release Date: Spring 2003.

Predator Crashes In Pakistan
An Air Force RQ-1 Predator unmanned aerial vehicle crashed during a test flight in a remote area of southern Pakistan around 11 p.m. on Dec. 31, according to U.S. Central Command officials here. The crash was not the result of enemy fire, and the aircraft is being recovered, officials said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics get funding for DDG-51 ships
U.S. Navy awarded contracts to Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics for DDG 51, Arleigh Burke Class detroyers. The first, a $409 million contract modification to Bath Iron Works, a business unit of General Dynamics, to build DDG 106, and for advance procurement for ships to be built in 2004-2005. Bath Iron Works is the lead designer and builder of the DDG 51-class destroyers.

The second to Northrop Grumman Corporation of more than $401.5 million for DDG 105, the second of four DDG 51-class Aegis-guided missile destroyers awarded to the company's Ship Systems sector. The original contract for $1.9 billion was received in September 2002. Funding for DDG 105 is part of a multi-year procurement plan under which the Navy is awarding multiple ships under a single contract. DDG 105 is Northrop Grumman Ship Systems' 26th contracted Aegis destroyer.
