Thermaltake Thermalrock Eclipse ATX Computer Case Review

While ThermalRock is a relative newcomer to the PC marketplace, their parent company, Thermaltake, has been around since 1999. Not long ago, I got the chance to review one of the first ThermalRock cases, called the Circle. It was a great case, with excellent cooling, innovative features and a very distinctive look. The look was so distinctive in fact, that some people didn’t like it very much. Pushing the envelope, style-wise, is always a gamble. Like it or not, you have to appreciate the guts it takes to roll the dice in such a competitive market. Well, with the introduction of the Eclipse chassis, it looks like the folks at ThermalRock aren’t afraid to roll them bones again. While I don’t want to turn this review into a comparison of the two, one can’t overlook the obvious similarities between the Circle and Eclipse chassis’. Although the Eclipse takes a styling cue from its big brother, it’s a very different and unique case in its own right. Can we find, as ThremalRock’s motto suggests, “Innovation Everywhere”? Let’s take a hard look at the Eclipse and see what it brings to the table.
