Publisher Lighthouse Interactive and VSTEP, developer of the successful PC simulation game Ship Simulator 2006, today released patch 1.8. Launched in June 2006, the game has performed well and sales are still going strong. Translated in 7 languages and available in stores in 20 countries, the game received much positive feedback from the vibrant user community of fans, largely professional seafarers. Excited about the positive response from the users, VSTEP has issued a number of patches in which, lots of new features, new scenery and a ship was added.

Patch 1.8 replaces all previous versions and includes the following fixes and updates:

1. Optimized loading when switching between different harbours.
2. Damage that occurred at the start of some missions is eliminated.
3. Updates are made to the ship loading function, so it becomes more easily possible to integrate additional ships in the game, like the ones from the recently launched add-on pack. Also user-created ships can now be integrated in the game.

The patch comes in twofold:

Full update: 1.0. -> 1.8 (includes all previous upgrades and patches). (350Mb)
Incremental update: 1.6. (1.7)-> 1.8 (For updating from version 1.6-(1.7) to the latest version or updating from the Ship Simulator 2006 Collectors Edition). (135Mb)
