Other than jokingly referring to it as "Cod Blops" internally (now shortened to "Blops"), the Shacknews staff doesn't really talk about Call of Duty: Black Ops. We're hopeful that Treyarch can pull the title together to achieve the same quality captured by Infinity Ward in the original Modern Warfare, but we have some reservations.

Earlier today, the subject of Blops--or Call of Duty: Black Ops--did come up as Activision released a 10-second teaser trailer to an extended trailer set to premiere during the Minnesota vs. New York game tonight on ESPN.

Based on our scientific popularity metric (Read: It's a dartboard), "Blops" is one of our community's most anticipated games of the year. If you're a diehard sports fan that also enjoys shooting virtual fools in the face, then the pairing of ESPN and Treyarch's latest is wonderful news.

If your reaction to the above teaser was, "Why are two states are going to battle each other on a sports channel?" then you may want to wait until the full trailer is available on Shacknews sometime tomorrow. In the meantime, make sure to read all our recent 3D-based coverage of Black Ops and Wikipedia the phrase "American Football."
