DICE, an Electronic Arts Inc. studio, today announced that first-person shooter fans will get early access to the best-in-class online war experience in Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Players can now download a free* console demo worldwide on Xbox LIVE Marketplace. A PC beta would also be available to players that pre-order the game at participating retailers in North America, Europe and Asia, and through select community channels at 6pm CET today. On February 4th, the demo will be accessible on the PlayStation®Network in Europe and on February 11th in North America. Defined by its increasingly intense vehicular warfare, destruction, variety of weapons and huge sandbox environments, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 promises to be one of the finest online FPS games of 2010. This Battlefield Blog has the entire press release and multiple mirror sites available to download your PC Beta Client. 1.5 GB

There's a Battlefield Bad Company 2 PC Beta forum on the Electronic Arts UK Website with feedback on the just-launched Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Beta (Thx:BluesNews). The forums offer the chance to report bugs and find possible workarounds, and this sticky post addresses the tendency of the server browser to crash to the desktop: "We are aware of a number of crashes when people are using the server browser in game. Please help us pin point the issue by avoiding the use of the browser and instead using the PLAY NOW button. This will help us locate the cause as well as allow you into the beta servers without CTD."
