You can have your Warcrafts and Command and Conquers; for me, the Age of Empires series has always been at the top of the RTS pile. Sure, there are gamers who are going to disagree with me here -- and the C&C and 'Craft games deserve their fans -- but, for me the Age series has so much depth and detail that you can't help but be drawn into the action. We've just been playing through an early version of the game for a few days now and are even more convinced than ever that Age of Empires III will please fans of the series in particular and of the genre it represents.
