Northrop Grumman To Provide US Navy Missile And Launcher Support
A team led by Northrop Grumman Corporation will provide essential program management and technical support to the U.S. Navy's primary surface-to-air missile and launcher program, STANDARD Missile/Surface Launcher Systems (SM/SLS).

The SM/SLS contract was awarded by the Naval Sea Systems Command and is valued at $49 million over five years to Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector. Additional performance-based award options bring the potential value of the contract to $106 million over 10 years.

"This significant contract award retains our strong STANDARD Missile support business, while expanding our support to include the VLS component of the Aegis weapon system," said John Edwards, vice president, Combat Systems Support, Northrop Grumman IT.

Under the SM/SLS contract, the Northrop Grumman team will provide systems engineering and program management support; technical and programmatic support for STANDARD missile research and development activities; financial management, acquisition and logistics management support for the STANDARD and VLS production programs; and technical, analytical and logistics management support for the STANDARD missile and VLS foreign military sales programs.
